Help smog test - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

I got a 2002 BMW 325i and when to smog it and it fail on the MIL/Check engine light. I need to register the car soon so if you can tell me how to fix the problem ill appreciated.

Fix whatever is causing the CEL.

just go pay the registration fee and then have it smogged. Then after it passes, you can go back and bring the smog papers.

DMV doesnt take registration payments in person anymore. And the smog pass certification is all electronic.

hmm...I went to AAA to pay for registration on a used car purchase. I just need to go back and bring the smog papers to finalize it.

get an obd2 scanner and find out what trouble codes the car is throwing
