concave front and flat rear isn't a good look IMO

I agree. The above photo was to show that the only way you can ever have a concave setup on a 1 series is to run it up front with a widebody. The rear of the car comes with an 8.5" 52mm offset stock. To keep rubber under the fender as you go wider, you have to increase the offset significantly. low offset wheels look like a joke on the 1 series rear because they aren't even close to fitting, so you're better off just not doing it.
This is the 3 series forum, and the E9X doesn't have the same issue. The concave 9.5's fit with ease on the rear of the 3 series. |

I know, that's why I said I don't think it will fit on a lci, which is what I have.

Thinking of 18x9 F and 18x9.5 R, would that work with coilovers without rubbing or rolling the fenders? This would be for a DD and weekend autoXer, so I'd like to get as much rubber on them that I can without mucking with rolling fenders or scraping issues. Likely AD08 tires... As large as I can safely go.

Are these fine for a daily driver?
Any problems with 18x9.5" all around on a pre-LCI E90 AWD? What offset to go with? Also, are the 8.5" wheels concave? What would be the right offset for those on same car? Last edited by Never-Enough; 04-30-2011 at 09:23 PM. |

Yes, these are fine for a daily driver. These wheels are VIA certified with authentic registration numbers. Many of the vendors on here selling wheels claim JWL and VIA certification when they are not in fact certified. The ARC-8 wheels exceed the load rating requirements for street wheels. The reason these are popular for the track besides their weight is the fitments available. The offsets and widths produced are spec'ed to fit r-compounds and extreme summer tires properly for track use. Most wheels can't do that, since the average consumer runs narrow tires with a stretched sidewall to get a flush look. These look close to flush when you have wide tires on them. We do not at all recommend running a square 9.5" wheel on your car unless you have camber plates, and rolled fenders. Customers trying to do that are going for a stretched aesthetic fitment, and not a performance orienteded fitment. We can't provide advice for that fitment as it's prone to issues. The 8.5" wheels have concavity. They are not totally flat. They are about 1" concave before the deep center drop in. From a sharp angle you can notice it easily. |

Didn't see an answer to 'skibbs' question regarding 18x9F; 18x9.5R and stock suspension.
Will the 18x9F fit with say a 245 or 255/35 PSS or similar tire? I'm guessing 245/40 would be too tall? Rear would be 265/35.

AD08's and other extreme summer tires won't fit up front in wide sizes without camber plates. 265/35/18 on the 9.5" wheel is a clean easy fit. |

I have an E90 LCI with M sport package. I'm thinking about 18X8.5 front with 235/40 tires and rear 18X9.0 with 265/35 tires.
I like the 18X9.5 wheels for the offset, but my gut feeling is that they won't fit easily on the rear. Recommendations? Also, I'm curious about TPMS fitment. Thanks |
