Suv parks right next to Z3 in open lot - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

I got this on camera when I was pulling into a parking lot. An Suv parks right next to a Z3 when there are tons of open spots all around.

I just don't like when people do that. Someone goes through the trouble to park where there are plenty of spots around and this person parks right next to their car possibly dinging it when they get out.
I record whenever I'm driving, once in a while I catch something funny. Its also nice to have if you get in an accident and someone tries to screw you over.

OMG!! I hope everything turned out OK for the Z3 owner. That's terrible!!

Also it looks cloudy in the video-- DON'T TELL ME THE CAR GOT RAINED ON TOO!!!

Why can't drivers of lesser cars have the common decency not to park right next to a BMW when there are clearly other spaces available that won't put the BMW in such mortal danger?

Also do I need to explicitly point out my sarcasm here?

You think you're 'protecting' your car, but IMO you tend to make yourself more of a target when you park out where there's no other cars...

I use a GoPro HD Hero camera and use the mount that came with it.

The video looks kind of cloudy because it was around 7pm and getting dark when I took the video. I also was not using the low light setting. I'm still trying to find the best format to record and render in but here is a video of what it looks like when its sunny.

I can also post a picture of the mount in the car tomorrow if you like.

I parked next to a RR today when there were open spaces. It's because he had an Arizona sticker and I have the license plate frame. Wildcats FTW

BMWs are chick magnets. They also seem to be magnetic in true sense, the cars around just drift into the direction and want to really park next to them.

Non-BMW owners just seem to be enraged or jealous to see a BMW. OR he/she just wants to take a look at the bimmer closely, so did not want to miss an opportunity to park next to it. Walk around, stroll around and peep inside.

This is what leads to many of those parking lot accidents which show up on the general forum!

heres how is see it:
My car is spotless and parked by itself in a lot, separated from the other cars.
Another car comes in and sees where I'm parked and notices im alone.
The driver will think to themselves, "If this guy cares enough about his car to park away from the other cars, then i shouldn't have to worry about him scratching my car when he pulls out. He will carefully open his door, and carefully drive away."
I'd think that the driver of that SUV cares about their car and knows that that side of the SUV will not get dinged from the Z3.

U know what I do. I carry a sticky note pad in my car and when a suv or another car Parks right next to me in an empty parking lot I leave a very nice message for them stick it on there driver side window. I think we should all pass on this trend. Me and all my boys do it lol
