I think you'll find 34/35 too soft and imprecise! 34/35 is what is suggested a set of generic 19" wheels on a regular car should be pumped to so that there is safety in the pressure for the given sidewall loading whilst maintaining comfort
Hi Tony,

Theres an online calculator which allows you to pick your axle weights, V Max and exact tyre product.

http://conti-luftdruck.de/index.php?gelesen=1#result

Check it out and see what you come up with.

Cheers

Where are you getting your axle weights data from? BMW online website? You need to add the optional equipment to it, plus two passengers and also wet load. BMWs axle data is dry weight only.

To be fair I've used the axle loads shown in the owners manual but BMW dont give lots of different pressure settings for different vehicle specs so the principle kind of carries over doesnt it?

Understand what youre saying though.

I believe that Birds 335i Coupe demonstrator with all the trick stuff on it is running 2.2 bar at the front and 2.7 bar at the rear.

I've got the 18" versions, in 235/255 as that's all that was available. Running at 36psi front / 38psi rear and they work great

Just got mine on this morning and what an improvement. I've gone from 17" bridgestones to 19" Contis and I've already noticed the ride is vastly improved an less crashy and although still firm it's much better. Not had chance to see what grips available but at my nearest roundabout I took it at over thirty in the wet and it stuck like glue. So far so good

Great combo Tony!
I'm lucky to run PS3s on 18" and I'm very satisfied with the grip, both on dry and wet I'd say the wet grip is better than with the PS2s...

First of all, great review as usual. Gives me a bad conscience as I have wanted to type up some reviews myself but just cannot get around to doing it. And now that I'm on holidays and my car not available I feel I have other things to do...

And I can confirm these tires are great - I had the pleasure of riding along with Tone for 2 laps on the Nürburgring, and they are really impressive. These will definitely be my next tires once I will have to replace my current ones next summer.

And - the new Performance rims look fantastic!

Hello E9* drivers,

my name is Karsten, just registered from Germany.

First i want to say thanks for the great Review

I need new tires for my Z4 M Roadster, dimensions are the same as on the E9*, 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 on new BBS CH-R (silver) wheels

I first favourited the new Bridgestone Potenza S001, but his tire ist not available in this dimension. So i think the the Conti 5P is a good alternative.

But i have some questions and i hope you can help me although you have the tires relatively new.

1.) I have read on the Sport Auto test that the Conti is not as good in constant load as the other test opponents. They give the Conti 12 out of 20 points. The Pirelli Pzero and Potenza S001 got 16 points and the Michelin PS2 got 17 points.
Did you noticed something on the two laps on the Ring? Too much tread wear or greasing (hope its the right word)?

2.) Can someone say anything about the normal tread wear in this early stage?

Hope my english is readable

Regards

Karsten

as Tone already mentioned I was really impressed by the tires and they are on the top of my list for my next set of summer tires. An other tire I would consider is the Pirelli Pzero. Curious to see how the 5P wear down.

Tony - they are fantastic looking rims even if they are a bit big ;-)

Weight listed as 13.2kg front per corner, 13.9kg rear. I can't see that being accurate though - I would have thought nearer 12kg per corner.

My (sub 12kg...) wheels being refurbed today. Should be shiny for a little while.
quite heavy wheals to be honest I guess you need the 19" to clear the brakes. You considered taking some nice VOLKS? I hade the VOLK Progressive ME on my Z4M coupe, the backwheel was 9.7kg (9.5x19). The 4 corners together this would mean 16kg less unsprung weight (-28%) That is a difference you would feel for sure (at least I did on my Z)

I agree - still a heavy wheel compared to the lightweight Volks/Rays wheels, but this probably isn't a bad thing given the pot-holed state of UK roads.

Recently bought a set of BBS lightweight 18" wheels with Cup Sports to use as my Ring setup

New ones The companies I used to make them have been working on the design and have worked out they can save a bit more weight on the conrods whilst increasing strength by around 5%. They also want to see how the new pistons and rods I had made first time round have held up in the car.

I hope the radiator fits...!!!

Me too...haven't heard back from the garage yet, will see on Monday.

Think of the washers when you take out your engine again!
