Im worried about my oil level. Is this normal?

So I picked up my 2011 335 on last week the oil level on the digital indicator was in between the minimum and maximum oil line. I have driven 375 miles and now it's on the minimum line and it says please add a quart of oil, this is no problem since I'm doing an oil change tonight however the cars consumed about half a quart of oil and 500 miles is this normal?

I've never owned a German car before but I'm not sure if this is normal or not. I'm kinda worried.

Digital readout is a bit flaky on my 2011 sometimes. Change the oil, make sure the level is correct and watch it over the next several thousand miles. A little bit of consumption is normal but 1/2 qt. in 375 miles is excessive.

Yea maybe it isn't 100% accurate. The oil was black tho. So I am gonna change it again in about 1000 miles so I can make sure it's all flushed out.

An N55 will turn the oil black in half a day. Color is no way to judge the life of motor oil. Use the proper synthetic oil and stick to the factory interval, or a minimum of 7500 miles. Changing your oil in 1000 miles is a waste of time and money.

Ha! Same thing happened to me last month. Thankfully I made it to my dealer nearby 5 minutes before close and they topped me off a quart. Never happened before or since in my nearly 3 years of ownership.

I'm in a similar boat with my 'new' 2011 335.

Where you able to figure out what was causing the excessive consumption, or was it an oil level error?
