Is BMW making an M3 GTS-esque orange paint available through BMW Individual?

Take a look at this BMW 335i Convertible which may be part of the BMW Individual lineup and uses the exclusive paint color called "Fire Orange", hopefully it would become something that everyone can order from BMW Individual? I really hope so...

obviously you can get any colour through BMW Individual if you get in touch with a sales re, and arrange it and.... pay for it!

remember the Individual M6 from Hawaii with the special wood and paint?

But it will not become an official colour of the BMW Individual line.

The color looks great on the GTS, but on this... not so sure.

Judging from the pictures, that car sits at the BMW AG owned dealership in Munich (Frankfurter Ring to be specific). Looks to me like this is merely on display to promote Individual colors at that dealer. The sign says 'exklusives Einzelstück' which translates to 'exclusive one-off car', so I guess nobody will get another car in Fire Orange. I even doubt somebody can buy this specific car right now as Fire Orange still is exclusive to the M3 GTS.

Best regards,
south

We have two exclusive Orange finishes one in Metallic and one in standard finish. This dealership is where BMW AG employees get their cars.

There you have it, it's not available. BTW, what's the name of the Orange Metallic finish? Feuerorange / Fire Orange is non-metallic.

Too bad its not available because the minute it does become available, Im ordering one in this color. BMW has so many great colors that they either dont offer here in the states and or are just extremely hard to get. I also really like Techno Violet and a few others.

While waiting for my SA to finalise an M3 Competition order I saw this. She mentioned the black wheels, but not the Fire Orange exterior and seat stitching!

Browsing old books and magazines one finds that at one time a color close to the Feuerorange was very popular in Europe, and most manufacturers offered it under various names. The graphics I've seen make it hard to say how would the old "pumpkin orange" compare to the "Feuerorange," which was likely chosen to make the car unique.

Wonderful thing Google.

This is the metallic finish on the M6 Cabrio.
The color being looked at for other BMW M models is an orange in the same vein as Sedona Red which I think will debut with the new F20 Sporthatch.

Isnt't the color of the GTS Inca Orange? This looks to be a different color.

Apparently it is. See the pic of the E93 M3 in the post above. Although upon closer inspection, the color on that M3 looks closer to Inca Orange than the color on that 335is. Could just be the lighting, though.

This isn't entirely true. BMW AG can (and has many times) decline a color choice for an arbitrary reason, even if you're trying to order an existing color from their catalog. That's why there isn't a single Monte Carlo Blue E9X M3 in the US.

I checked, and it's Fire Orange, exactly the same color.

Good point. We need more information on that E93 M3, maybe it's just a similar color.

That's true for the US. In Europe, the choices are only limited by some restrictions (like the GTS color) and the personal budget.

Best regards,

The 335 is a fake sports car? I think you meant exotic cars
