I have no idea where you guys have been getting your weather forecasts for The Dragon area but I just checked the local forecast which is as follows:
Thursday: snow, high 31, low 12
Friday: snow, high 34, low 21
Saturday: no chance of precip, high 45, low 26

If it snows on Thursday and Friday and the temp doesn't get above freezing, it isn't going anywhere. At best you will have a lot of sand and salt on the roads on Saturday. This is not good. Everybody needs to check the forecast for possible changes Thursday night and Friday morning. If snow is on the ground it isn't going to be a fun day, Saturday.

Of the total 335i's that are planning to come, any coupes other than mine?

I don't know where you're getting your weather data from but it sounds as though its from the bum down the road thats childhood dream was to be a meteorologist but never made it for obvious reasons.

Looks like 59 on Saturday. Take that with a grain of salt. The weather changes fairly quickly here.

SCA, come on bro. You should make it out on Saturday. Trust me, it'll be a lot more fun than going by yourself during the week.

Mine will be. Well, I'm hoping for a snow storm either Saturday night or Sunday morning so that my bimmer can at least see snow once in her life.

Just so you know my source which is from the Fontana area
http://www.wunderground.com/US/NC/Fontana_Dam.html

It appears this mornings forecast has improved someone. I have been up there after a light snow and you can have problems several days afterwards in the shadow area. However, as of this last forecast I'm still in but we may have to adjust our agressive driving because of some ice patches and/or sand.

Someone asked about bringing wives/gf etc., I'm bringing my son and one grandson.

I've been watching www.accuweather.com for the forecast at Fontana Dam, NC. Maybe some light snow today, but highs in the high 50s afterwards. I think (hope) we'll be in good shape. We'll definitely have to scout the whole route before any spirited driving, but I think we're in for a great time no matter what.

Any advice for first timers?

All I know is I'm gonna keep a healthy distance from whoever is in front of me, and always "look through the turns" as I'm driving to stay on course. My bro used to own some motor bikes so I got this tip from him, and once I got my Bimmer and started taking some nice corners I really understood the value of this statement. Taking your eyes off the road and not looking through turns = veering off course.

These are some good tips http://tailofthedragon.com/dragon_howtoride.html

Most import thing is don't push yourself, if someone behind you is going faster don't be afraid to pull over and let them by.

I'll be more then likely coming threw the dragon on my way to meet you guys at subway so I can scout it out on my way threw. Worst spots for hidden ice etc... are up on the skyway, ussualy the dragon stays clear.

Add a Mini driver to the list. Got a message from "MINIMOL" this morning. She's a Dragon regular and was planning on going that day anyway.
