Unhappy Someone tried to jack my car from B-Pillar

Hi everyone,

An unfortunate event happened today. I parked my car outside my house as usual. When I was about to drive off...these happens....anyone knows how to change the B-pillar? I have found the parts # 51337060240 here (http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...51&fg=20&hl=15) Should I get the clip and change the rubber as well? Need your opinion and help guys Good thing the thief does not broke the windows or keyed my car in his frustation. He thought that our B-pillars are made of plastic but it's not...it's some real metal and quite thick and hard to twist...

Thank you for your help guys....

Leme see if I understand, someone tried to pry the door open to unlock it? That is damage to the door trim cover?

The B piller is a structural member. It can't be replaced. The trim maybe.

As you can see in the picture, I believe the damage is only to the door trim (metal right?) and a little cut on the rubber (Do I need to replace this as well)? Now if there were a DIY on changing the trim (I tried to search and no thread with proven method).....

Thank you for the support guys..Looking from a bright side, now I know that our precious car is pretty strong...

Its hard to say how the cover attaches. Its probably some one time clips that break when they are removed. So if you buy some of them and have a look at it before pulling the old one, you can get an idea how it will come off.

I would not change the rubber unless you find it leaking air or water. It is generally pretty well glued.

I am sorry for you and your car. The damage you show in the pictures looks to be only to the trim. You need to consult a body shop to know for sure.

Thank you for the advice..Yes, I have sent an email to Jason @ Tischer asking for his opinion. From my observation, looks like there are some clips holding it..I am going to wash my car today and check if any water sips in...

Bad bad Sunday yesterday...

sorry man,
I see your point, you rather change it yourself than pay the $300 ICBC deduction.
someone did the same thing to my car 4 months ago and I had ICBC repair the damage. I didn't know what the body shop did to remove the pillar.
anyway, good luck
