Do you push the shifter button in while you are pulling up? Or do you not push it in while pulling?
I have tried this technique on my E46 and was never able to pull hard enough. I always felt I would break something. |

don't worry about the button. My e46 was MUCH harder to remove also. My e90 was easy!

I did not push the shifter button. I did it from the passenger seat following some of the advice in previous postings. 5-10 seconds of pulling up and you're done.
