Talking E92 8000K HID H8 Angel Eye's and D1S Bulbs

Hi Guys,

After some consideration and doing alot of research i've decided to order a HID kid for the angel eye's and also upgrade the standard HID's to 8000K.

I managed to get a good deal from Alex@Alpine in the US.

Having placed my order today i hope to have then soon...

Has anyone else in the UK gone down this route or am i the first one?

Also are there any fitting instruction to replacing the D1S Bulbs?

Cheers,

Kal

Here are the pics of the HID KIT Xenon 8000K

I'll take some pic's of the D1S upgrade and put them up...

Seriously it's a killer changing the D1S bulb but the xenon angel was really easy to do!

Let me know what you think...

Yeah i was thinking the same... it's the headlamp i think... when changing the bulb i notices the ring has gone a bit yellow like what happens to old glass... The offside was clearer then the nearside hense the difference in colour look...

I tried to use some polish but no use... any ideas??

I guess 8000k for the corona rings is fair enough as they're largely cosmetic - each to their own and all that. 8000k for the dipped beam is daft - the light output will be seriously reduced but will be more irritating for oncoming mortorists.

Steve have you got your kit ye? i had to wait around 4-5 weeks for mine to arrive.

Ian- It's really not that bright for oncoming mororists... I would advise anyone who is going to get one to go for 10K or above.... on the 8K the outer rings look greenish which is not pleasent!

Yes it will be a blue/green colour at 8000k, check the links below to see the Kelvin colour temp scale. White light is about 5000 to 6000k.

Lets hope they are good brand, I changed my OEM ones last year when one died while on holiday abroad. Put in 6000k and today on way home both died within few miles of each other very annoying.

Luckily had a spare set of OEM ones so these have now gone back in

Strangely the kit arrived this morning and at first I thought it was a replacement headlamp! After emailing Alex he sent a link to some YouTube vids on how to fit them.
I'll have a go tomorrow if I get the time.

Steve, it's very easy to install... took me about 20mins to install it properly.

Just watch the video a couple of times and you'll know what to do... the tricky part is actually putting the HID bulb in... thats what took me ages!

Try and put some pics up once you have it in!

The ones I bought looked different thant the OEM philips ones, however theres a new ebay seller that seems to be doing D1S 5000k and 6000k for 35 and they look identical to philips which retail for 170 a pair.

I find 5000k to be ideal but for now the oem will do too cold to mess about with them again

These are the ones from Alex, a doddle to fit but a bit fiddly and there are plenty of sharp edges to cut fingers

Is there no issues with these melting fittings, I thought HID's run hotter?
