04 745i bushings

First off I know this is the 3 forum but there's so much more traffic here so I thought I would get a better answer than posting in the 7 forum. I didn't even see a maintenance section over there...it's so empty.

Anyway, my father had his brakes replaced at the dealer recently and the dealer told him that his bushings were worn...about 65K-70K on the car right now.

I googled 745i bushings, powerflex in particular, and could not find any for the E65. However powerflexusa.com has E38 bushings.

I'm also assuming that the dealer meant the bushings in the control arms....my father said "the ones that can cause uneven tire wear."

Anyone know of some good aftermarket bushing for an E65? I'm looking for a longer life span, unlike the soft rubber OEM ones....car is not a lease, it's owned so no worries about returning to stock.

My dealer quoted us about $600 to replace all 4 (OEM) bushings. Good deal?

Thanks!

likely the bushings that were quoted were thrust rod bushings since thats really the only serviceable bushing i ever do on an e65...and even most of those arent serviceable as in you need to replace the whole arm with the bushing depending on production-some of the early ones you couldnt get just the bushing separate. As for aftermarket-not really sure-the factory ones are fluid filled...likely anything aftermarket will not be and most poly products dont last 65-70k regardless...
