Mass air flow sensor

Is there a DIY for cleaning the mass air flow sensor? I've searched YouTube up an down and it's only showing for the e46 no e92. Let me know if anyone can help. This is the first step in solving my problem. Thank you!

We do have a MAP sensor and it has helped a few people's problems.

Can anyone enlighten me to the differences in the MAF vs MAP.

Having a MAF is a huge pain in the ass for the delicate nature of it and the insane replacement costs.

Um what socket lol. You don't need a socket to swap coils.

Taking off the shroud above the engine cover to get to the back bolt that hold the cover on...those things were buried! Is there no Haynes manual or anything for our car? I looked everywhere today and nobody ha one.

I posted the BMW diagnostic tree for misfires on the other forum. Dame steps the techs are supposed to use. Very helpful.

For the record, MAF stand for "mass air flow" and measures the mass of the air entering the engine.

MAP stands for "manifold absolute pressure" and measures the pressure inside the intake manifold. Using a temperature sensor, the density of the air can be calculated and with the pressure being known, the mass of the air entering the engine can be calculated.
