05 competition package M3 as a loaner :)

Yup, dropped off my 335 today at the dealer (not BMW) for some standard stuff, and the rep saw that I was admiring the dark blue competition package M3 on the lot and let me take that as a loaner for a few days...

Car's a beast, no question about that. But I have to say my 335 with the JB3 is definitely faster. When I was purchasing my 335, it was between that and the 06 M3, I have to say I'm happy with my choice. Nothing compares to the roar and the rough and rugged feel of the M3 though, it's much more of a straight race car.

lol it's a private dealer in Glendale, CA called Future Auto Sales, where I purchased my car. Amazing dealer, great deals. It's owned by a close family friend, probably why he gave me the M3 lol. He was going to give me a Camry, but we started talking and he talked about this new dark blue M3 he got and he showed it to me, he saw I really liked it and asked if I wanted to take that for a few days... I was like... yeah! BTW the car's actually for sale, it's super clean and asking price is 27k with roughly 60k miles (it's an 05).

I gotta tell you, the SMG or AMG or whatever is pretty awesome, feels like stick, but I really really wish it was just stick. My favorite thing about the car is that it has a little lever under the shift knob that let's you control how quick or slow the shifts are. If you have a girlfriend or mom next to you bitching then you just turn that down... or up! lol. I have it all the way up so it shifts instantly and sharply when you paddle it. The tranny is pretty authentic, the car even rolls back a little bit when in idle at stoplights like a stickshift would in neutral.

I have to say my 02 M3 I just sold did not feel as fast as my (new to me) 07 335i in a straight line that is.
Wicked car though.

tell them to change the listing as it's SMG and not manual

how did you drive the car? did you tear it up? or be gentle?

05 M3 Comp Pkg. Prestine. Slightly hooned by e90post forum member. Asking 27k. Inquire within.

I got a 335xi, new w 2500 mi on the clock as a loaner. 4 wheel doughnuts are surprisingly easy, and that's all I've got to say about that. Thanks Baron BMW!

yup, that's the one!!!! i told you guys....

had BMW loaned me this car i would've torn it to shreds, but because it was a close family friend who let me take it, i've been nothing but good to it. I mean, it is an M3 and you are going to drive it atleast a little hard, but I haven't launched it, haven't redlined it, only pushed it up onramps and turns here and there. I've had it less than 24 hours and I think I'll have it for another day at the most. I have to tell you though, the SMG is harder to drive than a stick... it's exactly like a stick car without the manual clutch, which only confuses you if it's your first SMG car (which in my case, it is). But yeah, at 27k i think it's a steal, I would definitely grab it if I was in the market for a new ride.

The car's beautiful. Had I come across this car when I was searching for a new car last December I would've probably purchased it, especially since it's about what I paid for my 335. I just couldn't find a M3 clean enough, with competition package, with something other than that disgusting turquoise blue or black. I told him when he gave it to me that he should have no problem selling this car, I know several people that have been looking for that body, with competition, in that color. But yeah, the interior is super clean, not a single scratch on the exterior, and it drives like a dream. Whoever had this car took good care of it, and probably because of the shitty economy had to sell it... I just don't see someone taking care of a car like this this well and then selling it...

I just wish I had it a bit longer...
