Oil Cooler Question

Believe I've read just about every post on the web about the oil cooler issue, and may have run across this info....but can't remember specifically.

My VIN actually states the car ('07 335i, sport pkg, AT, CPO, just purchased) was to come with the oil cooler according to the dealer, but it did not. Does this make me any different than any other "Joe" who has called up BMWNA and tried to get a retrofit?

Bottom line, the people who wanted the retrofit.....is it because they think their car should have come with it....or because their VIN actually stated the car had it, but it was not installed.....or both?

Just wondering if I have any chance at all in getting one installed at their cost. Considering some upgrades and not having the oil cooler may limit what I do to the car.

Appreciate any info or opinions.
