Car impounded for 1 week so all the tow and storage fees about $500
$700 ticket

ICBC will take Premium Charge $3xx / year for next 3 years

Second Time Offence;
Car impounded for 30 days so all the tow and storage fees about $1500
$1000 ticket

ICBC will take Premium Charge $3xx / year for next 3 years

this is BS. I agree for residential and school zones but even on the highways ?Cars these days stop and handle ten times better than the cars in the 70's when these speeding limits were introduced.

Got to love the municipal government! I mean, Toronto has the stunt driving thing when driving 50 km/k over and it just boosted the paralegal business as they can now say that the law is unconstitutional and they can get the offenders off some of the repercussions but the insurance system there will eat you alive for 5 years after the event. Now Vancouver saw the cash grab here we go!

I don't think I dislike anyone more than Campbell. He is a two faced lying SOB and I can't wait to see him gone, for several reasons. He should be run out of town , , , I'd also like to stick three letters up his ass , , HST

There are a bunch of laws that have been introduced over the past 10 years and are continuing to appear that have no benefit to us and are extreme cash grabs. So many new taxes.. we contribute to over 165 different tax programs per year.

The stunt driving one is one of the most unfair because you are presumed guilty until you prove your innocence which is contrary to the entire "innocent until proven guilty" system we all signed up for.

Then again, we all applied/renewed for drivers licenses, and in that contract we agreed to abide by all posted speed limits. We got a problem here!

Holly crap... I didn't know sooo many people hate this guy up to this level.
Anyways I have no clue if it's just Vancouver or the whole bc but I suspect the whole province. I heard it this morning at the radio on my way to work and I couldn't believe my ears. Even the radio hosts were making fun at the stupidity of the law and how easy will be to get caught doing 40 over.
The thing that posses me off the most is that if they really cared for our safety thy would have introduces mandatory speed limiters to all cars just like 18 wheelers. How would they make money than? How will the cops make their quota ? Harassing grandma because she is going UNDER the speed limit? I hate the government rules that are working against the people. If this was democracy how would any government apply a tax without asking the people only several months after they voted to raise THEIR salaries by 30%? D you guys remember because I sure do !

the HST petition is currently in the courts right now. They are just waiting for a decision.. Hope HST goes away, and hope campbell goes away as well

HST petition cleared the courts weeks ago. It is now in the hands of the group that was created to deal with petitions like this. Since it's the first they are moving very slow probably at the request of Campbell.

If they do not vote on it in the legislature this fall the VanZalm group is going to start targeting specific MLA's for recall.

Campbell needs to announce his retirement. I think the latest popularity rating had him at 15%. I want to know who those 15% are?
