CPO warranty question

This is a pretty newb question, but to be honest I've never had a certified pre-owned warranty before.
What mods definitely void the warranty if found on your vehicle?
And can void your warranty even if your just doing scheduled maintenance and they find mods?

Anything after market will void the warranty for that particular part of your car. For example an aftermarket intake will void the intake warranty and adjacent parts. Some dealers are cool and don't care and others will give you crap for it. A good rule of thumb is to replace an aftermarket part with a stock one when you go in for service or have issues with your car. Make sure you keep all your stock parts until your warranty expires. If you care to btw. As for me I can care less and if a dealer gives me crap they can kiss my natural black ass!

haha, nice attitude about it.
I heard the dealer that I bought my car from is pretty cool about it, but other dealers in the area are super strict. I'll just continue to go to the dealer I trust and bought my car from.
I wonder if the bms powerpox will void the engine warranty if found?

Suspension mods void ALL suspension warranty. Engine mods void ALL engine warranty. And exhaust mods void ALL emission warranty.

I wouldn't take the risk with bring a car with mods to a 'cool with it' dealer. Definitely hold onto your stock parts before going in

Good point. I'll keep that in mind. I usually save all my stock parts anyway. Selling the car fully stock is worth more money anyway, unless you sell to an enthusiast or forums member or something.

Also keep in mind BMW Perf parts can void parts of your warranty if it was NOT installed by a BMW dealer. A friend of mind had BMW perf brakes installed by LTBMW and the dealer he took it to would not fix an issue he had with them. The reason was because it was not installed by a dealer. So if you want your warranty spotless have a BMW dealer install their perf parts. Bring lube for the ass raping labor charges.

I think technically they do void the warranty from BMW, but Dinan will cover the cost if their part causes something related to break.
