So this CAN tool needs to be plugged into the OBDII port in order for the gauges to be "hijacked?" Meaning.. I need to have some cable laying under my feet if I want to drive around displaying boost and other stuff on my gauges, correct?

Phone spell checking at it's finest...

Mike - Quick question....I understand when you clear out the codes it clears out everything (all codes). Will this clear out anything regarding when your automatic maintenance reminder (for dealer oil changes, etc) that BMW built into the car?

Thanks!

Coming soon Just note that it will be installed in the ECU as the OBD port doesn't have the CAN wires on the 2007.

Codes are separate from the condition based service. That will remain in place. Even with the BT tool you can't delete individual codes but individual modules. If there is an issues with the car the code will most likely come right back, so no big deal.

If its an 08 then you can grab the current one. Only 07 model years (not build dates) aren't compatible with the current version.

I have a question concerning the 07 not having the CAN wires. Is there anyway we could just run those can wires into the OBD2 port and retrofit like the 08's so we could just use the tool that available now????

Thanks

bump for the pre 07 cars.

is it possible to take the 2 canbus wires from the ECU and cable them to the missing OBD pin 6 and 14 ?

or is there any "firmware" change needed in the cantool to be compatible with 07 cars?

2007 compatability

Mike, it's been a very reasonable amount of time now (6+ months)... will this ever support the 2007 335i or not?
