Anyone planning on "shaving" the back of M3 fit wheels?

I was considering purchasing a used set of Iforged or DPE wheels fit to an M3. From what Ive seen, it would only take about 5mm or so to get them to fit right on the E92. Yes you CAN get them to fit without taking 5mm off but I refused to add more negative camber and roll the fenders.

My question is, has anyone successfully shaved the hub mounting portion of a rim? Iforged told me it couldnt be done to the Daytonas I had on my M3.

iforged probably told you that b/c there is not 5mm of clearance for the brake caliper, if you shaved that much off the pad. but the e46 M3 and the new e92 brake are probably not the same, so they are probably right.

Buy some negative spacers

I would be VERY cautious about shaving hubs. Im sure that has detrimental effects to the rigidity of the wheel itself...

i know a lot of people who shave the hubs of their wheels to make them fit, but each wheel has different tolerance levels to shaving, but most people i know say a max. of 5mm shave is a good guideline...obviously its best not to shave

I think it's a matter of personal preference really. I for one, prefer the shaved look. Wait...what were we talking about again?

Is 5mm really going to make enough difference to be worth your while?
