Garage List
best dsp + amp combo

for base audio (no amp in trunk). Will add focal or morel 2 ways in front. will leave underseats and rears stock.

1) jbl ms-8 (25wpc x8)
2) jl audio xd 600/6+clean sweep
3) jl audio 500/5+clean sweep (run the underseats in parallel)

installer doesn't now much about tweaking so i am on my own to eq.

also the cost of all 3 combinations for me is identical.

I would be concerned about blowing the OEM underseats with #2 or #3 on a base system.

I don't have personal experience with any of the DSP, so I can't recommend, but I feel like adding an MS-8 would be more balanced than amping those 6.5 inch underseats and the rears.

The CleanSweep CL441dsp doesn't require special tools or skills to calibrate but you may find an elevated noise floor if you want to use the factory volume control.

I'm finding the Zapco DC series amplifiers are best for me-- I have a 2010 with the base (stereo) audio system and am going with a DC360.4

Don't handicap the MS-8 by using the internal amp. For all your other configurations you have an amp and processor, do the same with the MS-8. I've heard that the MS-8 in ternal amp does just fine but it's still deverly handicapped when you consider all of your other options will give you at least twice the power. Also, none of your other options will even come close to the processing available in the MS-8.
