Alternatives to OEM CD Changer?

Are there any alternatives to getting the OEM 6 disc OEM changer? I've been spoiled by japanese cars and being able to change the 6 disc changer straight from the dash. In anticipation of my new ride, i'm actually sitting here making mp3 cd's. Would it be possible to use a dvd changer/8-12 disc changer instead? Just throwing it out there. That guy who put a mp3 dvd in place of his nav disc really got me thinking

The whole idea of CDs is a bit 1999, even with MP3 CDs.

You get a much better interface and much more music via the iPod interface.

One mp3 CD in your CD slot will hold approx 145 songs...6 normal CD's at about 15 songs each is 90 songs. Ergo, you probably don't need a 6 CD changer at all, you can just burn one mp3 CD.

Also, I see you're getting Navi, which means iDrive, which means if you're using an mp3 CD, you can see your list of songs on your iDrive screen.

The MP3 CD I have in my console slot does show the list of tracks, but only the first couple of letters. The rest is kind of scrambled with sequential numbers a bit like the old versions of Windows used to do. How can I burn a CD and still keep the titles & artist info clean?

there are several threads on burning with Nero, some of the advice was:

I've made mp3's successfully for my E90 (10/06 build), using Nero. I've used these settings:
*On Nero's Multisession tab, select "No Multisession"
*On the ISO tab, I've selected Format=Mode 1; ISO Level 2; ISO 9660; Joliet; and I've selected the 3 checkboxes to relax ISO restrictions.
