How much would you pay for a E92 323?

Hi guys,

Just out of interest, and me thinking of getting one,

RRP is 78000 in Brisbane. How much would you say is a good/attainable price.

sunroof is an extra ~$2750 and the sports seats will add a little more...hence the variation in pricing.

Pricing will also depend if you are going to trade-in. They might say $70k driveaway and screw you on the trade!

another $1250 for sport seats.

I'm going with option one. My RRP quote was from Rushcutter's bay.

I too am looking into this currently for a new E92 323i Auto.

Base cost price of Auto = $72,800
Stamp Duty = $1,456 (2% in QLD)
CTP & Rego = $675 (approx)
Dealer Delivery = $3,995 (RRP from Brisbane BMW - although under the Corporate EPP its only $1400 + GST)
Total RRP Drive Away = $78,926

Given its a new release, discounts will be very hard to come by (Brisbane BMW won't move much, if at all).

Going on the feedback here, try starting with a 10% discount off RRP and you'll most likely end up agreeing on around a 5% discount, making the driving away price close to $75K.

I'm off to Melbourne this week on business, so will try to do a better deal down there if possible.

Good luck.

sorry, what I mean to say was $79k with auto/sun/sports seats is a good attainable price. Thats what I'm going to fight for anyway

However, I'll be sitting out until the new M-kit is available in Australia. Which means my rrp price will go up.

Audi TT is a great looking car, but it doesn't appeal to me. (It's an ideal girly car)

yea i went to caloundra and they would only give me high 70s which means 3-4K off. I wanted 7K off so there was no deal.

Hope that helps you potential buyers

I am going to get a TT instead now. Wonder how much i can get off.

Wait until the end of the month (next week) and then offer them the price you want (inc the $7K discount). The worst they can say is no, but I'm sure they will think harder next time.

Audi's problem with the TT is stock allocation. If you do a deal it will be months before you get one. I spoke to Audi Centre Brisbane late last year and they said allocations were thin for 2007, thus don't expect any better than BMW.

Good luck and keep us posted how you go!

Trade in my e90 for e92?

Hi:

I'm also from Brisbane - Australia, and want to trade my e90 320i for a e92 323.

I just bought my e90 bk in early Dec'06 and done only 1.5k on it so far. I have quite a few options added on my car, which came to about $79,000 in total. After much negotiations, had it down to $71,000 through Brisbane BMW.

I was wondering, how much would the trade in value be of my car that I only had it for 2 months. I was thinking 12.5% depreciation based on the original $79,000 price. That would than equate to $69,125 - being the value of my car now.

As for the e92 coupe, the drive away price is $78,926. I'm thinking of adding another $4,580 in options. That would bring it up to $$83,560.00. Is it realistic to negotiate the price to $77,000 (around 7.5% in discount)? In that case, I would only have to pay an additional $8,000.00 for the e90 323 - meaning the total cost of ownership for the car would be $71,000 + 8,000 = $79,000.

Please tell me what you think and whether or not the figures are realistic enough or if i can do better. Thanks!

wow...$8K discount off your E90, that's awesome!

I think 5 - 7% discount is realistic for E92 323i.

Contacted Brisbane BMW and was informed the trade-in value of my e90 320i which I bought 1 and half months ago valued at $79,000 is now worth around $50,000 meaning an additional $30,000 will need to be forked out to buy the e92 323i.

Your joking right? Did you speak to the sames sales person that sold you the car? I'd perhaps think about speaking with the manager and seeing if you get the same kind of result. That seems like they are just happy to rob you blindly.

$15,000 depreciation per month!!

Yup, I spoke with the same sales person and the $52,000 figure is correct.
Basically what they are saying is that upon buying a car and selling it, you will need to take off the GST, luxury car tax, Car Dealership fee, etc which comes to a total of $15,000. If you subtract this amount from my purchase cost of $79,000, it comes to $64,000. And since my car has done around 2k in milage, they will compare my car with other cars currently in them wholesale market and determine the price. Hence, if an equivalent of my car is selling at around 60-65k for a 2006 model with 2ks on it, then the trade in value of my car is around 50-52k as the car dealership needs to make a margin in the process.

I am surprised then that they are charging so much for demos (?essentially a used car with low KM's). Given when you buy a demo all the LCT, GST etc has been paid for by the first owner ie. dealership (you become the 2nd registered owner as the buyer), so I can't imagine why a demo only costs a few thousand less than a new car. But I think it's useless arguing against it, because at the end of the day if you want the car you have to buy it knowing the moment you drive it out the door you are already at least $20-30-40k less better off!! Makes me wonder if Full Circle and guaranteed future value isn't such a bad thing after all.

Another option is to try and sell your 320i privately, then pay a large amount of cash towards the new car, which perhaps may give you more bargaining power too?

If you look on http://www.carsales.com.au, you will see the sales person is correct when he says that the dealers are selling them for between 60k - 65k. There are only a few Private Sales, and the one with the lowest klms is asking 60k.

It depends how urgently you want the new car? If you could afford to wait a couple of months, then you have nothing to lose by posting it on car sales for 60k and see how you go? I mean if it is only 1.5 months old with low klms, then someone is going to see that even at 60k, it is a bargain compared to 79k.

Just my humble opinion anyway

Kev

Edit: Just had a look at Brisbane BMW web site, and notice they are asking up to 79k for a lot of cars similar to yours. If they give you 52k, they will certainly be making some money
