Yes, BMW intentionally tuned the 325i slower. If you look at dynos from both cars, you'll notice the air/fuel ratio is richer on the 330i which allows it to run more spark advance. The 325 also runs less valve lift at full throttle and even less lift at high rpm to cap off peak power. That's one of the reasons the 328 has 15 more HP with almost the same engine.

just out of curiosity what does this powerbox do. i had a 16v gti back in the day and there was a similar device but that one implemented the cold start fuel increase at full throttle. besides the drive by wire delay improvement where does the claimed increase in power come from with this bms product?

A lot of people have done that. That is on my to-do list.

The 3-stage manifold functions properly without the tune, and you can feel a difference. I am using the 3 stage with a PBX right now, and it made a very noticeable improvement compared to without the manifold.
The tune will make it much better though, as e90pilot pointed out. |

Not sure. My diff was replaced already for $2k even but that was a brand new one and before I had the idea of getting the automatic one. You can get one out of a junked car.

i just got my 328xi and i love it. i was going to start modding the shiz out of it with performance exhaust, euro intake, powerbox but then i figured something out. i bought the 328 cause i did not need a superfast and loud car...i got one of those already. so im going to throw some 19s on it and maybe a couple more appearance mods. IMO if you want to go fast in a e90/92 just spend a few extra dollars and get the 335. not only faster but better brakes and all that good stuff. makes way more sense.

A diff from a car with an automatic transmission. The ratio is shorter. You'll have better acceleration but rpm cruising in 6th will be higher.

The day I see a stock 328 with just the aFe intake dyno higher numbers than a drop in filter, I will concede and put mine back on.

If you put the 3.73 diff in a 128 or 328 with a 6MT, 15% more torque will be sent to the drive wheels. I would GUESS that would cut the 0-60 time by about half a second. |

373 gears would be the best Acceleration mod you can get for the N52 & 6MT. However, I would not do it unless you can have a limited slip dif. installed. Otherwise, it will be tough to get traction in 1st gear.
