LED reverse light...will I get an error?

This could be complicated or not. I have pre-LCI. I have LCI tails. I had them coded so no errors right now and they blink correctly. I had both problems before the coding.

So if I buy and install the LED reverse light from here...

http://www.modmy3.com/bmw-e92/bmw-e9...se-lights.html

Or maybe I just have to get the resistor with it?

you may not get an error, but it will flicker during the bulb check, though you can code those out if you have a forum member who offers free coding.

I think they wont throw errors even without the resistors because when you code the
tail lights you disable the bulb check in all the rear lights.. So i would say no

"Yes you will" << Get errors?

They won't be any brighter? The ones I linked? Or any of them? Or are they all the same?

I can deal with the flicker. I wonder if the coding I've already had done for the rear will make it good to go?

Dark night > So for a pre-LCI with LCI tails, I'll get no errors for sure?

I would email Marc, as I am LCI. Are your tails coded? Do you have the harnesses?

They are coded...no errors and no fast blink...which I had both of...

I think you had to have the harness? I installed them and don't even remember

Wait!! The products you posted in the original thread won't work with your LCI tails!

The only solution that is available for the LCI tail lights is LUX's reverse light. No one else sells one.

Right. The link you posted from MM3 will not work. MM3 sells a Ba15S/7506 LED bulb that works with the E90/E91 Pre-LCI. They also sell a 921 type LED bulb that works with the E92/E93 Pre-LCI, and the E90/E91 LCI. While your vehicle is an E92 Pre-LCI, you have chosen to upgrade to the LCI E92/E93 tail lights, and given that the reverse bulb has changed for the LCI tail lights, you can no longer use the Pre-LCI reverse bulb!

http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1313418333 In this image you can see the LUX reverse light solution, and the E92/E93 LCI reverse light bulb. Note that the bulb is soldered to that metal base...for reasons unknown . That's part of the reason why the LUX bulbs are so expensive...he had to R&D a custom base! And the fact that the combined output is 1300 Lumens...which is just absurd (so much brighter than any cheap eBay product...that's approaching halogen headlight brightness)

OK cool thanx. So repetitive questions..

So you think I'll get an error with these?

Am I going to have to un-solder mine?

Just responded to your other post, but with the LUX Backup lights you will not get any error messages. These are the brightest LED backup lights out there for sure

you won't get an error with the LUX products. and you can't just unsolder the bulb and replace it as far as I know. It's definitely not a standard bulb soldered to that metal base, and its designed to be replaced as a unit.

I am going to drive both you crazy with more, lol..

OK so I will just be pulling out a while reverse light unit in the tail unit?

And you're saying that I CAN NOT get an error with the Lux unit even on a pre-LCI with LCI tails?

I'm sure I'm repeating myself...but I just wanted to be sure...these aren't cheap bulbs like I was thinking this would be

you will not see errors on your 2008 pre LCI vehicle. if it was an 07, I would say there is a VERY small chance of errors, but the 08's use a different lighting computer that is less sensitive than the 06/07 vehicles.

and you will be pulling out the metal plate/bulb combo, and installing LUX's product in place of that. check out his website for install instructions--click on the product from the choices presented, and then look on that page for a link to the installation guide!

Will the lux LED's work in my reverse lights as well without throwing a code. Right now, I purchased some leds from VLEDS and it's throwing a code in my car.

I don't think Lux will throw a code. Sames goes for the HPB E92 LCI reverse Lights.

However, all LED's in the reverse lights will pulsate (flicker) during the vehicle bulb check.

Only way to avoid that is not use LED or code out the bulb check.

How about for LCI models? If I use a CANBUS LED / T10 base, will that work with no issues? Also, what LED power do I need to get them brighter than the stock (rated 12V/16W)...I don't know what the LED wattage/lumens conversion rate is vs regular bulbs
