First, make sure you're burning the .iso image and not the .zip that gets downloaded. Some computer built-in software will happily make a DVD for you that is basically just a backup of the zip file. Unzip the .iso image from the zip file and burn that. Use ImgBurn, Nero, or something that knows .iso images.

The BMW DVD drives are very finicky. Try a different DVD brand or type (+R v. -R) and see if that works. The drive might be dirty too. I've cleaned mine before by spraying dust-off or similar through the slot with the attached tube.

Some people have claimed that burning at 1x or 2x rather than full speed helps. Some claim this is a myth. Your mileage may vary.

First disk did not work - sent it back. Replaced with second which did not work - sent it back. For three weeks he has been saying he will send out new one. Never received it. Refuses to issue credit. Now he does not even respond to my e-mails. Basically said I gave him wrong information on car year. I think I should know what year car I have!

This guy advertises all over when you do a google search.

I'm new to the forums, as this is my first post.

I just picked up a 2006 330i in great condition! The one and only owner before took great care of this car. I must say, this is the best vehicle I have ever driven, hands down.

On my Navigation, I have a 2007 disc in currently. Can I download this torrent, burn it and work with my Navigation?

Also, I am in Houston, TX - does anybody here have a copy they can send me? I can pay for shipping cost plus a little extra for the troubles.

I can help you out with a copy of Region 1, East for $10. But that stops at Louisiana, and you are in Texas. Hopefully someone else can do the same on Region 2, west.

I upgraded to the 2010 DVD when it became available last year, but not 2011. We don't use speed cameras in Michgan ::knock on wood:: But it wouldn't hurt to upgrade to 2011

But they must have speed trap location near you. this might help you out. remember you are in region 1.

Also if he is using a stick on label be careful. When your car gets hot inside, the glue will get soft and the sticker might jam your DVD drive. Might need to make a copy of it w/out the sticker label. GL

Hi, Ive been having an off and on problem with my idrive. I have an 07 with the 2011 westcoast DVD from this thread running and my nav would be working fine then all of a sudden the assist window would go from a map to the inboard info screen and I'm unable to use nav anymore. While driving I've tried ejecting and sometimes the disc never comes out. If I stop for more than 10min and startup again sometimes it fixes it. I'm wondering if any of you have had this problem before.

1) assumes that it didn't do this with the original older BMW disk?
2) try a re-burn on a different disk. You might have some bad spots or a bad burn.

My car was bought in Dec CPO I didn't have the original 07 disc in there very long to see. I'll try a reburn

Or, beg/borrow one. There has to be someone close by with an original disk that will exchange an hour of their time for a cup of coffee and good times.
Your BMW dealer sucks if they did not give you a disk. Not so if you didn't buy it from a BMW dealer. I didn't get the 2011 disk ( they probably tried to give me the wrong disk, it didn't load/read) but I did get a 2007 one at least.

What happened?

A few weeks ago I tried again using the voice command "New Destination"
while I was in another part of town and it worked. It's worked ever since, so I'm super happy, and I stand corrected. I still don't know why it didn't work the first time I did it though, but maybe my last navigation destination didn't have its streets t labeled in the same way (2008 Navteq vs. 2011 TeleAtlas)
