I downloaded the mac files and burned 4 dvd's following genepooles (I think)
step by step instructions as well as some other methods, as well as using different software to extract and burn but each time the result is the same.
Screen says "incorrect dvd, please insert proper dvd" then it spits it out.
My firmware version is SW 4-1/30. Anybody know what is going on here?

I guess it would be good to know if this download is supported by my unit and if not where can I get one that is.

Download won't work for me.

I have been downloading torrents for the last 4 years consistently. And I've burned hundreds of DVD's.

I guess what I'm confused on here is if I get the ebay CD...all I have to do is burn a copy of it, right? I don't need any other files or am I losing my mind here?

I understand the glue label thing if it gets hot...which I'm San Antonio where it definately gets hot.....

I just would like to know.....in easy English exactly what it is I'm supposed to do if I'm getting the ebay disk...

Someone posted a while ago that it happened to them. But I have not seen it. I wouldn't take the chance. When I got my DVD and it had the sticky type label on it I justy reburned it to a DVD+R with no label. It took less than 5 minutes. I put it in my drive and have been using it for the past 5 months. When I make someone a copy of Region 1 East (it is the only 1 I have), I will use the original one I bought. It's a win, win situation.

Roger that. I just don't have a burner AND another drive in my current desktop...have to get one just for this I guess...at least they're cheap nowadays...

I'm in Texas so heat is defeinately a concern...and I damn sure don't want to screw up my player.

I got the ebay disk yesterday and it definately is not an original...like I'm sure everyone knows....I started to just tear the label off...but it's on there tight.

Stickers are no match for Acetone, paint thinner or WD40. Use some alcohol to clean up the residue if you use WD/paint thinner.
Peel off what you can and then use the solvents for the glue residue.
Mine has been flawless for two months now.

I have a brand new 328i (produced March 2011). Here is a picture of my Idrive display, and what it shows when I choose "Navigation Version" under maps/options. Is this version the latest/greatest -- cause it doesn't show my 4 year old street:

As you can see, it says Version:

112093.2.19

Road Map North America Premium 2011

So what I need to know is, does anyone have a later version than 112093.2.19? I would expect the latest to be in a brand new car, but you never know. What SHOULD be in my car? Is what I have correct?

Question is aren't all navigation systems the same for the most part? If so then one set of disks could update any car.

No and No.
trunk mounted and dash mounted nav systems require different disks I believe. Alongside that, there may be a difference between systems in years too.
You just need to search the part numbers to determine which one you need to look for, burn it correctly and then it should work within the model year range.

Same for me, It doesn´t display my street name (I´m from México), but my 2010 Ford F-150 has an excellent navi system, why?
My pick up is better equiped than my premium car?

Talking about the links, I want to know if the west CD is the same as region 2, and if my car supports this DVD or it has to be installed at the dealer, because they told me yesterday that an email was sent to BMW because of my problem, there´s nothing to do for me.
