New 3 series owner - hello

Evening all

I've just picked up my first ever BMW today...

Its a 56 plate 320d m sport - seems really nice although the ride is harsh ! Its got runflats on at the moment though so as there isn't much left on them they will be replaced with normal tyres asap...

Drove back up the motorway at 75-80 and managed 53 mpg which I was amazed at !

Performance was less impressive so I might have to think about remapping...

Anyway just wanted to say hello - I have already had a good look through the threads and might be wanting to ask some questions !

cheers

A couple of guys are selling tuning boxes for the 163bhp 320d. One for 150 I think.

You surely do !

Even though I didn't get it home until 3.30 I still had chance to clean the inside and outside - just a quick one - it was disgusting !

Just been out on some smaller b-roads - its faster than I first thought

the ride is a bit unforgiving though - really hope its just the run flats !

thanks for the welcome all

Yesterday was the first time i thought my car rode ok. Simply because i'd just spent 30mins in a gokart seat.

I've got winters on atm (normal rubber). Not as much difference in ride comfort as you would hope for. It's the suspension, but a good seating position does help.

It's my only slight negative on the car

Still, most of the time it's just putting up with it. On occasion i sometimes get a mild lower back ache. I was worried long distances would turn that into more pain but luckily it hasn't. In fact if anything, it seems smoother the faster you go.

Play with the seats and you will be comfortable for your back.. but I find my car to be too harsh over some joints on motorways and when camber changes, the car can seem 'loose' or jolt, though all 4 wheels are firm on the ground! Its not as fluid as the Mazda6 MPS I had before but it is tighter. Given our poor roads though, the tightness can slow the drive down.
