Tires on 19"

I have a set of 19" CH and I am at the end of the life of my current set.

My question is on the front 2 rims, which is 19x8.5.

Usually, i run 235/35/19 on the tires, but can I run 225/40/19 on them? (Conti DWS)

I know I can run them I guess, but what are the pro/cons (or no pros)

I rarely drive my car in the winter, but I do drive it "sometimes", so I am thinking the DWS.

OR, I can still just buy a new set of summer tires and since they are brand new, they could still last me a couple times on a cold day with no snow. (I dont drive it out with snow).

Some experts adivise would be great!

The 225/40 is about 8mm taller then the 235/35/19, so rubbing issues may occur during compression. Though the overall diameter difference is still within 3%, I would recommend sticking with the proper 235/35.

Sorry, how about on the rear,

19x9.5

275/30/19

or

255/40/19

with Michelin PS A/S Plus?

I was running 265/30/19 before with Michelin PS.

255/40 would definitely not fit. There is over a 5.5% difference between the 275/30 tire and it is 20mm taller.

On an 8.5 you can run the 225/35/19 Conti DWS which is available

Let me know if you need some help there.

225/35 is a normal size for a 8.5 wheel.

here my 19x8.5 with 225/35/19

Thnx! The wheel looks great by the way.

How about 275/30/19 on the rear with 19x9.5?

A bit wider than the normal 265. But maybe this will protect therim better?

275/30/19 fits fine on 19x9.5, don't know if it will rub or not though.

Run a 265/30 with a rim protection bead, like a Cooper, Michellin, Conti - even dunlop I think offers some options

a 275 is really wide and overkill IMHO for an e92. But it will fit, depending on drop it will rub (maybe)

Thanks.

255/30 or 275/30 on 19x9.5..

right now, I am toward 275..

Oh, the tire is Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus.

They dont offer 265/35 size..

As for rubbing.... May rub a bit.. i am dropped on KW, but I have my fenders rolled. Oh, running a 5mm spacer as well.. so my offset in the rear is approximately +35mm right now.

Gary@Tirerack. What do you recommend?

275 will work perfectly fine on a 9.5" wheel and offer a bit more rim lip protection but it may cause rubbing issues in the rear depending on your fitment and height.

I have 225/40 DWS's on my car right now and they do not rub. They are on 8x19 wheels. The wheels are OEM ZCP wheels, 47mm offset with 12mm spacers (35mm net offset).

I was thinking about selling the tires actually; I bought the wheels+tires as a set and the seller put brand new DWS tires on the front wheels. The catch is I live in San Antonio, TX and it hasn't snowed here for decades

If you want them I can sell them for $250 shipped. The tires have less than 50 miles on them, so basically they are brand new.

PM me if interested.

Thanks,
Cem
