CD resets to track 1 on restart of car - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Does this happen to anyone else? I have a 2007 335i with iDrive that I just picked up two weeks ago. When I turn the car off in the middle of a cd then return and restart the car the cd will usually (not always) revert to track 1 or sometimes a random track.

Of course my SA had no idea. I assume I'm in need of a software update but the car wasn't built that long ago.

Just wondering if this is a widespread problem...

There was a known issue in earlier versions of the PROGMAN software where the CD will continue to play for some time (it seems like around 10-15 minutes, based on my non-scientific observation, because it's about 2 or 3 songs) even after you've shut the car off. Maybe that is what's happening to you?

That issue supposedly was fixed with later versions of the software, and a 335i should have one of those later versions, so maybe your problem is something different.
