The cable adapter sales seem to be unavailable whenever I try to find one (using any of the previous links). Can anyone tell me if this cable is the same?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-INPA-K-C...553495&vxp=mtr

Please don't just flame me with "read post xxxx for the right cable" because I've read the damn thread and none of the links work currently (someone even PMed me the one-stop-electronics link and it didn't work then either)

Sounds like some people are just using the ebay one listed above and removing pin 8?

I don't mean to be a jerk, and everyone is generally helpful, but the sites linked just aren't kept up to date, and haven't been accessible for me....

Well, I didn't have any trouble finding the One-Stop Electronics proven cable:

http://www.one-stop-electronics.com/...&product_id=16

As far as the one you referenced, pretty hard for someone to vouch for just any cable (there are myriads of versions out there) unless they actually have personal experience with that particular cable.

The One-Stop Electronics is listed as In-Stock and $99...

Thanks for reposting the link. That's the one I've tried dozens of times both at home and at work. Of course I was just checking this thread on my phone, and the link works fine... Maybe firefox hates the website or something. Either way, thanks again for posting the link again!

Anyone have a source for SP-Daten v46 yet? My car was updated earlier this week at the dealership and I'd like to get back to coding it.

It eventually worked after refreshing it a bunch of times, over a few hours (just while sitting at my desk at work doing work). Ordered the cable.

Before, I tried on multiple computers, but didn't waste time refreshing every now and then. Got my shipping confirmation this morning, so I'll be coding it up soon (though the close I get to it, the more I wonder how I could have spent that $100.... instead of messing with a few preferences in my car).

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1600012

Update:

Got the high beams to turn on again (Thanks DIMSUM).

It isn`t the same command line as the older models.

When you add the xenon lights in the VO option, this line gets updated to this:

PWM_ANST_FL_BIXENON
wert_02
wert_03

With this setup, the high beams gets switched to your xenons and since we don`t have that bi-xenon wire setup, you lose the high beam feature. What you want to do is get the halogen bulb to be you high beam like old times.
In order to do this, you need to first add the xenon option in the VO $522.
If you start the car up after this, you will get the self leveling error because by default, the leveling feature is usually installed with the xenon lights.

No problem.
Using ncs expert, go into the frm module and look for this line

AUTO_LWR_ENABLE
aktiv

change it to

AUTO_LWR_ENABLE
nicht_aktiv

To get the halogen bulb to act as high beams, change the line I outlined at the start of this post to this:

PWM_ANST_FL_BIXENON
wert_01
wert_01

You must have both those lines there.

Voila, you have retrofitted your xenons. You can then tap the high beam wire (for your halogen) to your xenon shutter wire to get the bi-xenon feature.

This is for the bmw e90 cars (although it should be the same (not 100% sure) for the 1 series and X3).

Thanks guys for your help.

Disclaimer: Do it at your own risk. Vehicle coding should be done with the proper tools and knowledge.

Also, I'm going to use OEM pre-lci US xenon housings, OEM ballasts and D1s bulbs, with adaptive modules (I have the OEM adaptive module as well, not to be confused with self-leveling). Did you use adaptive headlights? And if so, does the adaptive work? I understand self leveling won't as neither you nor I have installed the levelers on the suspension, I'm just curious if the adaptive part works if you have OEM adaptive modules. Thanks!

So long as you have the adaptive module that comes with the headlights (judging by you post, you should have em) it should work.

A VO number does exist for just adaptive headlights (still need to add the xenon headlight VO $522). The VO code for adaptive headlights is $524 (according to the vo code list )

The adaptive feature takes angle readings from your steering wheel, which should do the trick (not 100% sure though). Hope this helps.

do you mean that if I have adaptive headlights I need to add $522 or $524 I assume both in CAS and FRM....

If you're looking for the "recommended cable", just do an advanced search for the seller "automotive-tool"on ebay.

Adapter for what? That cable should work for any car that uses K or D-CAN except it might have pins 7/8 connected which doesn't matter for your year. Your car uses D-CAN so it should be good. How did you test it?

I think he is confused by the writeup for this interface ( "K+DCAN allows full diagnostic of BMW from 1998 to 2008" ) . Don't worry dude, thats just because this writeup is old

Can anyone please help, I have a 320i e90 sept 2007...
Ive bought a cable (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1208821483...#ht_4852wt_952) and when i try INPA i get the two black circles, it recognised when I press the start/stop button on/off (ignition circle on right)

BUT... when i try and read any codes i get:

EDIABAS Fehler 19 : IFH-0009: NO RESPONSE FROM CONTROLUNIT"

Can anyone please point me in the right direction? or at least rule out what ISNT wrong?
e.g. does the ignition light going off and on when i press button mean that the right driver for my cable is installed and working?

Thanks in advance!
