BMW announces and celebrates its return to DTM racing with a short nostalgic look into its DTM past. We can't wait for 2012! On top of this great news is that DTM races will be coming to US in 2013.

I wonder which car they will use in 2012. OK, it will be a M3, but which generation?

In 2012 the new 3 series Coupe won't be on the market. But if they will race with the E91, the car will be outdated just one year later.

too bad that DTM cars don't have much in common anymore with "normal" street legal cars... just look at all the spoilers etc...

don't get me wrong, DTM is still better than nascar for example, but still... it's lost some if its appeal imo.

+1. Honing your driving skills was much better affluent in the older DTM.

The technical regulations of the DTM will get changed for 2012. One of BMWs preconditions for re-entering the series was that the DTM cars must be nearer to street cars.
