Well That Didn't Last Long, Back in a BMW!

So after totaling my 335 right before the summer, I bought an s4 that lasted all of 3.5 months before realizing I made a mistake and wanted another BMW. Went to my local dealer and they happen to have a 2015 m235xi built exactly how I wanted in stock and I jumped on it. Here we are only 3 days later and I am the proud owner of a m235

Here some pics because we all know any thread is worthless without pics

man that m235i is beautiful. So what made you change back from the Audi? Curious because I've had my 335i for about 4 years now and I've started looking into other options.

Well for one I am saving money on the deal. But in all seriousness it was just a very boring car. The styling was plain and uninteresting compared to the BMW. The power was good but had limited potential since there aren't many options for tuning and bolt on parts. After driving my e92 335 for 2 years and the b8.5 s4 for a few months I have to say the m235 is better than both in my honest opinion. The 2er comes very well equipped even in its base form. I have to say this is probably my favorite car I have ever owned.

M235 xDrive? Where's the xDrive badge? If it is, wheel gap isn't bad at all. Congrats, it's a beautiful car

Yes its xDrive, the first thing I did was take the badge off. The wheel gap seriously isn't bad at all. Thank you!

What do you find to be the key differences between your M235i and former 335i? I mean in terms of interior ergonomics, features and driving characteristics.

For example, over the years, I've discovered very minor points of "dislike" re: my E92. One is that when I connect my phone to the car's via Bluetooth, I lose the voice command features of the phone. That doesn't happen in my F10. I can get by without that. Also, until I sewed/glued velcro onto the seatbelt presenter, the seatbelt was rarely presented as it would slip off the arm.

I realize you may not have had the car long enough to notice the tiniest of details such as the two I mentioned above. If that's so, NP. I'd had the car for more than a year before I noticed the things I mentioned, but then I don't drive much either; 7K miles/per year is a lot of driving for me, and I have four cars, so I know it can take a good bit of time to notice things.

As another example, I noticed immediately that I can't stand the design of the door pull on the F30/32. When just tooling around the city, I drive with my left leg pulled up, rather than fully extended, and I rest my knee against the the door. In the F3x cars, my femur rests against the door pull and after about 20 minutes, it's not comfortable, in fact after about 30 minutes, it hurts.

The F30 is the only car in which I've had that issue. And it annoys me to the point that while I'm fine with driving an F30 loaner or my son's, it means I'll probably never buy an F3x car for myself. I would choose a different BMW or a non-BMW instead.

(I know that's not the so-called "ideal" position for my left leg, but that's beside the point. That's how I sit when I'm not feeling "sporty," and it's not going to change. LOL)

TY in advance for any feedback you can share.

All the best.

PS/Edit:
Glad to see you got a red interior. I'm very partial to red interiors, so much so that I prefer them with any exterior color. It just always adds more panache. Moreover, IMO, red the new black. <winks>

Nice! Congrats!

I actually really want to test drive a M 235 to see how it compares to the 335.

Congrats and beautiful new ride. Just out of curiosity what didn't you like about the s4? Was it a b8 s4?

It was a 2013 B8.5.. And I just didn't like how boring the car looked, it wasn't agressive looking to me and had weak lines. Also didn't like the aftermarket selection for things, there wasn't really much to choose from and Audi is extremely strict with mods. I also know BMW's like the back of my hand compared to the Audi's. Maybe I was being picky but I am glad to be back
