I think with the impending cold weather most people are buying smaller/thinner wheels to stick winter tyres on them and are too skint to pay for these and then have to shod them with summer tyres.

Its a good price but wrong time of year to sell but there's always a market out there somewhere.

Hi Ecosse,

I would be very interested if you were 400 miles further south!

I'm wondering how much it would be to courier the wheels to the South Coast (25 miles to the west of Brighton). I will investigate the possibilities tomorrow.

Ok then would you be able to pack onto a pallet for me to arrange collection?

I don't fancy a 5 hour round trip at this time of year up north

LOL, I don't even have any packaging material never mind a pallet.

http://www.paisleyfreight.com/alloy-wheel-courier.php seem very reasonable.

Well that's quite reasonable courier, but i'm sure you would still need to wrap the alloys some how to protect them, unless they have traveling boxes themselves!

Anyway this is sort of an impulse buy and wouldn't need them until next summer as i want to leave my 17" winter boots on. sooo i can offer 400 as most go on here for that price with tyres and these are obviously just the rims but nicely reconditioned.

I aint in no hurry either, 450 is price (which is very reasonable with respect to condition).

Why would they do a full refurb and leave the old balance weights stuck to the wheel ?

Good question. I'm not sure.

May be standard practice ?. I'll ask my tyre garage owner mate what's the norm.

EDIT :- He reckons they must just have been resprayed which may well be true.

All i'm concerned about is they are in 'As New' condition.

Can you clarify whether these wheels were given a full refurb at the BMW dealer body shop (as per your OP) or whether they have just had a respray (as per your last post)? Makes a big difference.

I can see that they do indeed look in 'As New' condition, but if they have just had a cosmetic respray job, then the problem is that this will not be a long lasting solution, and whatever lies under the new paint will resurface sooner rather than later.

I'll try and get more details on exactly what was done.
---------------------------------------------------------

These wheels are now sold.

p.s. the technical description for what was done was 'the wheels were redressed'. e.g. new coat of paint, glazed sealed etc.
