Introducing the cleanest 11 second e39 M5 in the world

True statement I think

only 2 recorded 11 second e39 M5's that I know of.

Spent a good 5+ hours with Adam detailing his M5. Being silver its pretty damned hard to document just what a difference this effort made, but in person the smoothness, gloss, depth, and total shine were greatly improved.

Fantastic car, ran a 11.95 at 119mph w ESS s/c a few weeks ago, going back to MIR on the 18th for a 120mph trap or bust (likely the clutch lol)

================================================== =

Car was already washed w Dawn very thoroughly, 1st small section on the hood revealed this mess:

Before claying

Roof section

After claying

Mine on Adams lift, strange squealing sound started today, using some degreaser, white great, and a stethoscope we figured out 2 pulleys are about to go out

washed, clayed, washed

Football on, beer in hand....or buffer

Not a bad place to spend a Sunday afternoon

Taping has begun

Test section

Before

After

Adam got the honor of polishing this side of the M5, Menzerna ceramic 106FA polish used on the vertical portions of the vehicle, Menzerna SIP w yellow pad followed by ceramic on the horizontal portions.

Yum

Polishing complete.....super shiny now!

rear brake/wheel car porn

2 coats of JetSeal applied and removed...love this stuff

smooth like glass

found one of these bastard stink bugs hiding on the drivers mirror. I think Adam hates these more than anything in the world.

Wax applied and trim reinstalled....

Daytime shots to follow at some point this week

Outstanding. Looks like a brand new car, but better with the mods.

nice wheels!!..... although the yo snap bro with the 20" with inverted 8" lip prob. wouldn't know..... you couldn't bend a step-lipped Fikse like that if you tried to (ok go ahead burst my bubble and tell me you've bent them before?).

I'd consider painting the black trim if mine. If really rubbery it takes spec. prod.s but can be color mayched.

That looks like a random orbital or DA buffer...... did u use that for whole job? You should see how much better and faster a straight rotary will work, generates bit of buffing-friendly heat. If ur using quality pads and compunds - like Menzerna - you have to be a pretty big idiot to f it up. The ro/da is pretty much totally idiot proof and finishing with one can help with holograms and the finest finest compounding scratches on dark colors but early stages takes forever to do what a rotary will typically do in minutes and actually on say the Menzerna SIP semi-aggressive type polish i dont even think a ro/da really lets it do what it is supposed to do, too gentle to little heat generated. If u used a rotary too u know what i mean.

I swear there's some sort of bug velcro on our mirrors. If those little suckers want to be on that mirror, it takes a bit to get them off.

One of those bugs got behind my mirror this past summer. It was on the car when I left the house, and I noticed it crawling around on the rim of the mirror (literally just as in your pic) shortly after I'd driven off. I drove at up to 70 mph at one point and it just hustled on back behind the mirror as I passed 60 mph. It crawled back out when I slowed below 60 mph. It hung out there while I was at the ATM machine. It came right on back home with me and crawled back to the end of the mirror when I parked the car.

I don't know if there's any truth to this, but the stink bugs seemed exceptionally numerous this past summer. Even now there're a few hanging out around my parents' home.

Nice looking car you have there. I still find the e39 to be among the more attractive BMWs one can get. Far better looking that the 5er that followed it.
