Peter, really pleased for you and it looks a really nice car and spec has all the essentials you need. Really like Black / Black on a Porsche and the Sports Exhaust sounds so good. I would not be concerned about the sports chrono pack as personally I think it's a bit of a gimmic, especially if your car is for road use.

So you have a OPC car with a 2 year warranty - please tell me this one is a keeper....

Which OPC are you getting the car from?

OPC Solihull, and I'll let you into a secret, I haven't even seen it yet! The first time will be when I pick it up. Minimal risk really, I expect, from an OPC, a quality prep and I know I will not be disappointed.

Keeper? Of course, two years OPC warranty and no service required until July 2012 (minor + brake fluid) and with what has been done in the prep I anticpate that it should be minimal cost apart from 97RON jungle juice and insurance! Unless of course Palmboy offers me his 997TT in 6 months time.

When I first read your post yesterday, I could not believe that you had gone from a potential E63 purchase to a 997 Gen 2 TT, i nearly choked on my coffee when I scrolled down and saw the pictures!

A quick bit of thinking and I thought I had better 'announce' what I had gone a bought as well. If I had left it until next week then I could be (in)accurately accused of imitation (which it never was!). I thought my C4S was the dogs b*****s, not being in the position to be buying a 997 TT, but having seen yours I now know what I want next, Turbo S Cab!

And for the record, I think I joined the MB forum and PH before you

Some are better than others, Porsche dealers are not supposed to let a car go with any stone chips, that can me seen while standing in front of a car, from a distance of one meter.

Mine had a scratched windscreen and low engine oil.

I've been there a few times as it's about 2 mins from my office! Mainly just to lick the glass! Knowing the prep involved with an OPC, the car should be spot on.

I want to turn Porky too (and not just round the waist )

With the Turbo being a completely unrealistic dream, especially at present, the C4S Cab is my semi-realistic target.

My local Porsche dealer has gone some stunning deals going on at the minute, and when combined with the 2 year warranty, it really makes them an achievable and realistic choice.

I was using all my self-restraint last week not to walk out with a gorgeous C2S (poor man version ). Aparently my local dealer has changed it's strategy this year and is trying shift ALL STOCK in November with a view to grabbing the December bargains themselves ready for the new year. Kind of a closing down sale...

Roger, just do it! I kept an eye on OPC Wilmslow's stock but I never visited, someone once told me they are very judgemental there, particularly as it is 'kiss ball' country.

It's now or never Roger, and if they are practically giving them away at the OPC, well, just indulge yourself and join the 'E90 Porker chapter'.
