WHAT MAKES CLUTCH MASTERS BETTER THAN THE REST?

- Greater clamping force with minimal pedal pressure: By re-engineering the leverage or fulcrum point on the pressure plate through their Hi-Leveragetm technique, Clutch Masters has increased clamping power, often without changing pedal pressure.

- Heat Treating: The diaphragm, or spring, is heat treated to increase spring tension for 10-40% more clamping force. This typically makes the diaphragm more brittle and more subject to premature failure. Many high performance clutch manufacturers use this procedure. Clutch Masters has perfected a more precise method of heat-treating its diaphragms to maintain consistent clamping force without compromising structural integrity.

- Double Diaphragm: The double diaphragm is a method of increasing clamping force by stacking two diaphragms on top of each other. Clutch Masters uses two separate heat treating processes, one for each diaphragm, to ensure perfect compatibility between the two diaphragms.

- Thicker Diaphragm: A thicker (than stock) diaphragm allows extra clamping force but is considered to be an on or off style clutch. Smooth engagement is severely compromised with the thick diaphragm due to the reduced elasticity of the thicker material. Clutch masters does not use this technique.

- Hi-Leverage Pressure Plate: By re-engineering the pressure plate leverage ring (moving it closer to the pivot point), Clutch Masters solves the clamping vs. pedal pressure problem.

- The Difference: Clutch Masters clutches are true High Performance Clutch Systems and are technologically superior to anything currently on the market. Clutch Masters uses Hi-Leverage technology in their pressure plates, which significantly increases clamping force with no unnecessary increase in pedal pressure. Discs are designed either with reduced Marcel or a solid hub design to take advantage of our Hi-Leverage pressure plate.




850 SERIES-(8.50” TWIN DISC)
Clutch Masters is proud to introduce the finest and most economical multi-plate clutch systems available for today’s high performance vehicles, the 850 Series. Clutch Masters Twin Disc systems are pure racing technology that also works well in high performance street applications. They are designed to hold tremendous horsepower and torque ratings, while retaining a very smooth operation. By slightly increasing the clamping force of the pressure plate and adding to the square inches of usable disc area, CM Twin Discs significantly increase clamping values with only a 25-50% increase in pedal pressure depending on the application. The cover assembly is machined from billet aluminum with 25% more tensile strength than the competition’s cast unit. The flywheel is machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum to meet SFI spec 1.2 for competition in NHRA, NDRA, IDRC, IHRA, SCCA and NASA. Each aluminum flywheel includes a replaceable heat shield. Steel flywheels are also available on select applications.


AVAILABLE STAGES FOR THE 850 SERIES

Full Street (TD6) - 2 fibber tuff disc, one sprung and one rigid disc. Rated at 675 ft lbs of Torque.

Street and Race (TD6.5) - 1 sprung ceramic disc, and 1 fiber tuff rigid disc. Rated at 775 ft lbs of Torque.

Race (TD7) - 1 ceramic sprung disc, and 1 ceramic rigid disc. Rated at 925 ft lbs of Torque.

FX100
The FX100 System uses the Power Plus I Pressure Plate with a custom heavy-duty Steel Back Organic friction disc. This clutch is engineered for heavy-duty street use. It is specifically designed for extended wear and additional clamping force for the enthusiast who has added an exhaust system, an intake system, up to 50hp NO2 upgrade, or other non-forced induction external bolt-ons. It features only slightly increased pedal pressure, longer life than stock, and normal clutch feel during engagement and disengagement for a very smooth operation. This application is rated at 450 ft lbs of Torque.


**THIS APPLICATION NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ROAD RACING**

FX300
The FX300 System uses the Power Plus I Pressure Plate with a Steel Back Segmented Kevlar disc. This clutch is designed for the ultimate street enthusiast or weekend racer running a normally aspirated car equipped with cylinder head work and/or hotter cam(s), or with medium-boost turbo or super-charger, or up to 100hp NO2. The FX300 features only slightly increased pedal pressure, long life disc and positive engagement. This application is rated at 510 ft lbs of Torque.



FX400
The FX400 System uses the Power Plus I Pressure Plate with a custom, extremely durable, Sprung Ceramic disc. This is the ultimate extreme duty street and/or road/drag racing system. It is available in a 4 or 6 wing (paddle) configuration, with the 4-wing being the more aggressive setup (please specify which type you prefer). The sprung hub design allows for moderate dampening in high-torque applications, rendering it much more streetable than solid or rigid designs. This disc is designed for long life, outstanding holding capacity, and rapid heat dissipation. This application is rated at 575 ft lbs of Torque and the best of the FX series for road racing applications.

(WARNING) Due to the solid (no Marcel) friction rivet design, the FX400 disc engages very quickly and may chatter slightly in first and reverse. To help alleviate this problem, we only use premium ceramic friction material.

Think you don't need a clutch? The factory clutch is rated at less than 400hp and won't take the abuse at the track. 90% of drivers think their clutch isn't "slipping" until you hit the gas and watch the RPM's soar while the car barely moves.
