What is required for CIC + Combox on a 12/06 build e90? What else do I need to support the USB connection in the glovebox as well, since that wasn't around until 3/07?

Get the latest car software version possible for the new controller support.

Other than that and the CIC/Combox software is self contained, i.e. all the USB ports (glovebox, center console and 6NF/6NR) will be supported independently from your car software. You will have a dual-channel Bluetooth as well.

I meant what do I need as far as hardware to integrate the center console 6NF mount as well - since my car is a 12/06 the ipod integration wasn't even an option, so there is no wiring there anyway. Does the combox replace the TCU/ULF?

Yes, you use the current TCU wiring. USB port is a single cable, no need for the USB hub either.

sorry for hijacking the thread, but I have a interesting case with my F10. it's built 2010/10, and I know it has combox in it because I see album art. but I don't have bluetooth audio streaming, no office and no bluetooth double-pairing. any ideas? maybe it's because Japan spec?

Most probably it is a matter of coding with some extra hardware missing (microphone, antenna, speaker) to enable Bluetooth.

thanks for the reply. the funny part is my bluetooth works with 1 phone, just no audio stream and double pairing but my iphone cant send my contacts like pre-combox... I guess it's just coding problem? F series cars can't be coded yet right?

I have a question. I saw on the website(www.bmwretrofit.com) where there is the e9X CiC kit, that there is an USB port included. I wanted to ask where exactly would this usb port be installed. Does it go inside the glovebox next to the AUX input?

It goes in to the glovebox in the dashboard. This USB port is mainly designed for the Map updates and Media from flash drive importation to the CIC.

Hi I just want to post a good feedback for the bmwretrofit team
I bought my CIC from them, the unit was pre-coded so installation was just a simple plug & play. They supply the installation instructions as well as the other parts that we need in order to install the CIC controller knob in our cars. (in my case e70 PDC parts too)

They answer all my questiosn via emails very fast!! even on weekends!

So I must say that if you want to upgrade to the CIC .. bmwretrofit are the guys , pretty good pricing and support.

my next upgrade is gonna be the combox with the 6NR support when it comes out
