OBD does not connect

I just bought a 2010 BMW 335xi that needs some body work done. Anyways, I tried connecting my OBD computer and it doesn not connect. I also than tried connecting trough my bmw carly via android and that failed. The OBD port has power cause it lights the computer up, but i cant connect to ecu or any other modules. Checked OBD fuses and they seem good. Help me if you can. Couldnt find anything online for this. Thanks

Does your car have any form of tuning? e.g. JB4?

I'm no expert at this.

From what I've read some of the pins connect directly to other modules and some via the junction box. Most people with the same problem are advised to check the OBD cable harness and to trace the lines back to the modules... which doesn't seem simple to me.

http://pinoutsguide.com/CarElectroni...c_pinout.shtml

Has good info on the pinouts.
