Exclamation MFactory LSD Pre-Buy for Welded Diffs

Hey guys,

now that we have more concrete details on our welded diff options, I thought that it would be a good time to start making up a pre-buy list

Terminology (As some people are still confused with all the terms)
- Pumpkin/Core/Carrier/Pig Snout: This is the entire unit, the part you see bolted up to your car, and contains everything
- Differential Unit/Diff: This is the main part inside your pumpkin that does all the traction magic. OEM is open differential. We are offering a limited slip differential
- Ring & Pinion/Final Drive/Crown & Pinion: This consists of the Ring Gear (which is welded on to your oem differential) and the Pinion Gear
- Rebuild: As it suggests, rather than you DIY or having another shop do it for you, we are offering our rebuild service if you send us your pumpkin

Fitments:
- 135i/335i DCT with 2.56 Final Drive
- 335d with 2.81 Final Drive

What is included:
- Brand New MFactory Helical LSD
- Modified and Reconditioned oem Final Drive (Ring & Pinion)
- New Ring Gear Bolts

Price: (DCT)
1) Send us your Differential Unit first (NOT the entire pumpkin) - $1319.96 inc shipping to North America/Europe/Australia

or 2) We send you a pre-built Differential Unit (NOT the entire pumpkin) with modified ring & pinion first - $1819.96 inc shipping to North America/Europe/Australia. $500 is refundable after we receive your old Differential Unit + Pinion back.

Rebuild Service: Not applicable to Europe/Australia
- Add $500 if you send us your entire pumpkin first, and we will rebuild it with the new LSD. Includes return shipping within the mainland US (+$100 for Canada).
- Additional $500 core exchange applies if we ship you a rebuilt pumpkin first (subject to availability). Refundable after we receive your old pumpkin back

So it would be about $2500 if we did not want any down time and have a DCT, then when you receive the old setup we get $500 back making it a total of about $2000 for an LSD? Does the DCT option work for 335is?

Yes, that is correct. The more numbers we get, the lower the price will be

So just to confirm, as it stands, if I have a 2011 AT, there is no group buy currently available?

Using what logic? If you sign up for either MT or AT, you are in on the GB.

It lists fitments for mt and dct no? Isn't the final drive different for at aside from the 2 fitments listed?

Besides, even if im wrong, no need to be a dick about it. I drive 30k a year for work, I'm a casual poster here. I do have notes assembled for a conservative bolt on build and have a parts war chest in assembly but as much as I love cars my focus and energy in life is elsewhere the vast majority of my time and unfortunately that is detrimental to my memory retention of final drive ratios for each respective transmission choice on a particular BMW chassis code.

If I'm looking to spend 5-7 grand for a build, a Quaife kills the budget, this doesn't. Hence my interest in availability. The company makes them I'm sure, but are they available at this discounted price point? If the answer is obvious and I'm ignorant, someone enlighten...

If you have the AT, you use the small bolted fitment. The pre-buy only applies for the welded diffs.

We have AT cores in stock. Price is $1500 inc shipping (+$500 refundable core exchange) for fully rebuilt core with new LSD.

Thank you for confirming the answer to my question. So effectively the group buy does not include the full rebuild, which is moot as I an ineligible anyway with the AT.

So for a couple hundred bucks more than the group buy price, I would effectively get a brand new rear end for around 1000 less than the cost of a Quaife installed in the housing without a rebuild?

I may be in for the MT 3.08

So the cutoff date for the pre-order is August 30?

I just fitted Ohlins so would be rude not to get involved.

I don't know the final drive ratio of my car. Its a EURO E92 335D. Does anyone know?

Yes, the welded pre-buy pricing above is for the LSD + Final Drive only. The rebuild charge is an extra $500 on top, so you are actually cheaper than this welded pre-buy (if you compare rebuild vs rebuild)

Yes, you would be getting a fully reconditioned rear end with new LSD for $1500.

Your diff is the same fitment as the DCT, although the ring & pinion that we are making just now is the 2.56. The 2.81 from the 335d will be further down the road.
