a supercar that can rival the R8, LP640, 458, SLR, etc.

Probably won't happen though.

Now that they're building a 1 Series M, I would like to see a 1M CSL with the next gen 1 series.

Emphasis on lightweight (3100lbs at most), turbo 6 cylinder power, DCT, fitment for 285 wide front and rear tires with no modification, track worthy suspension, priced at around 50-55k. I bet that car would sell like crazy, but it will never happen as it will cannibalize M3 sales.

Or even more lightweight using a turbo 4 and no rear seats to get down into the sub-3000 lbs range.

I'm all for that, as long as the turbo 4 is torquey and feels like the N55.

I wish they offered four-wheel-drive across the diesel powered models as well. Something like "335d X-drive, 535d X-drive and 740d X-drive".

An M5 F11 and a lightweight S65 powered Z4 coupé.

But above all else, I wish they weren't so mean; a 550i M-sport costs £53k and it doesn't even come with split-folding rear seats!

It's a £370 optional extra and that brings me to another problem: The optionals are ridiculously overpriced. £370 for split-folding rear seats, £260 for anthracite headlining, £285 for the shadowline exterior trim, £420 for powered boot operation. 370 quid for split-folding rear seats... Come on BMW... That's overpriced even for Lord Alan Sugar standards!

I would be much happier if in the U.S. we could order options individually rather than lumped together in a package.

But if we are dreaming a sub-2500lb two-seater with a n54/n55 power plant.

gt3 rs fighter and offer 1-2 thousands in the US and a few hundreds for canada. also a halo car in the 500k price to compete with enzo, etc.....

if nissan can go toe to toe with porsche, then it's time for bmw to step up the plate.

A super sports car to compete with Ferrari, Porsche, Audi, MB, etc.

If not, then focus on building a 1000 hp M5 that will do 0-60 in 2.0 sec (if that's even possible ??)

Less weight, less computer/electric motor junk between the driver and the road. These cars are turning into the ultimate driving simulators.

+1 I'd love to see BMW make something like the Mercedes R Class. BMW doesn't make anything which you can fit 3 carseats across the back seat.

Pickup truck, something akin to the Honda Ridgeline. X6/X5 looks like the perfect platform for it.
