Chrome Grills Cosmetic Fix? Chrome coat disappearing from slats

I bought a set of chrome grills from another member here and was told they are flawless. They came out to be pretty good except there are small 1/4"-1/6" blemishes on the grills. Perhaps due to regular wear and tear but why they would be on the slats in the middle ONLY.

4 on the left grill, 1 on the right one. Basically the chrome coating has started to disappear.

Any suggestions on what I can do about these? I bought them for $40 shipped, not too bad but it would have been nicer if they were in better condition.

Thanks for your help guys!

I bought this set for $40 shipped from a guy on e90post who lives in Florida, and was told they are flawless. Rest of the grills are actually next to new except these little worn out chrome, which could go unnoticed, but I would have to have them put on like this.

I think I should have returned and asked for a refund.
