2011 328xi AFE intake issues!

I recently had an afe intake installed on my 328xi and there was a slight issue with it fitting but the heat shield was modded slightly to fit. I was told this wouldn't affect performance. It sounds absolutely amazing but I feel like it is reducing my horsepower slightly, I did some 0-60 runs before the intake (on my own) and got an avg of 6.7s with the AFE intake I was getting 6.9~7s. It has been about 200-250 miles since it was installed so im not sure if my car still hasent adapted to it. Also I tried reseting my ECU by unplugging my negative terminal from the battery for about 30 min and I still havent noticed an increase in power. I'm almost ready to take it off but, I dunno I should wait longer or what. Another weird issue is that sometimes it feels like its working and sometimes it doesnt also when around 40mph I can feel it better I'm so confused. I'm new with car performance and this is my first bimmer so im looking for any help I can get.

Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you guys

from what i heard, open air intakes for our cars decrease low end torque but increase horsepower on the high end. there are many factors like the weather that effect 0-60 times. try checking for loose connections ie. intake tube. you shouldn't have any problems with the maf sensor since you have a 2011

what did you mean decrease low end torque and raise horsepower on the high end? does that mean my car is going to be slower at lower speeds and faster at higher speeds?

contrary.

Intakes doesnt give any gains; or really minimal gains.

You do it for the sound and the driving pleasure.
