325i to 335i exhaust

Hey All,
I've been looking at throwing a magnaflow muffler on my car for some time now but I am just not getting around to doing it so I need some thoughts.
First off, what do you guys think of this muffler? http://www.planetmagnaflow.com/shop/...12148-820.html
I have a friend who has it on his 330i and it sounds great with a res delete but I've also heard the pipes on a 330i are wider, is that true? If so, what size muffler fits my 325i? Does anyone have any suggestions on tips for this muffler? I like the black chrome tips by cyba but I know they don't fit.

Also, I've been thinking amount tuning my car into a dual exit exhaust as I've seen it done a lot on this forums. But here's my question, can a body shop carve out an identical exit on the other side of stock bumper or do I need a new diffuser for that? And does the outlet size of the muffler even matter if I am making this dual exit?

I have a 325i and I did the convertion to 335i full oem with no aftermarquet parts and I can tell is expensive, so for less or same money you can go aftermarket and get a more agressive look it just depends how close or far to oem you are willing to go. So good luck!!!

Yes a bodyshop can carve you an opening on the other end.

They'll use a heatgun to warm up the plastic diffuser and then carve through it, with a steady hand and good eye the results usually turn out very good.

You don't have any idea how much that runs do you?
And what are my other options as far as different diffusers?

Don't do it bro! Honestly, pay the extra money and get something proper, search through the threads. As others have noted you get what you pay for. I had a 98 328i, I was still in college and as such didn't have the money to throw on a proper exhaust system. I thought hey magna flow it's cheap and besides they are all the same right? Wrong!!! At first it sounded good, but it became annoying really fast! Extremely loud inside the cabin, and provided no power gains at all. Take it from me, do a little more research and ask other members here what they use. Good luck bro.

Cheers!

What do you mean get something proper? What's wrong with magnaflow? My grandpa has it on his crossfire and it sounds great! What makes magnaflow more annoying than rouge IKON? That was the other exhaust I was looking at, but it didn't sound loud enough.

Well, if the cabin noise does not bother you then by all means. However, I had my 98 328 on the dyno before and after and didn't notice a change in power (Hp/Tq). I have talked to many muffler shop owners since I live in close proximity of many shops and they all say the same thing about magnaflow, it's all marketing and I quote "you can buy many 30 mufflers on ebay that do the exact same thing as magnaflow." Straight from the horses mouth, so to speak. By something proper, I would go with a full catback remus which sounds awesome on the outside and does not intrude to much in terms of cabin noise inside.
