Arizona:Airstrip Roll Race Event!! December 6th & 7th 2014 held at Inde Motorsports

A buddy sent me an email with some info....

Event Summary

Lavish Luxury & Exotics, LLC is a new business to the Phoenix area, and will be hosting its first-ever racing event.

‘Showdown on the Strip’ is a two day, 2,000+ft, roll race and trap speed competition. This event will be held at the beautiful, and oh so popular, Inde Motorsports Ranch- in Wilcox, AZ. Some of you may be thinking, “How does one hold a trap speed event at a motorsports facility?” We would then reply with, “Easy.”. IMR is the only racetrack in Arizona with a 3,800ft FAA approved runway. This allows more than enough space to get up to speed, as well as shutdown safely.

We will be limiting registration to 125 vehicles per day. Motorcycles unfortunately won’t be permitted at this event.

There will be fuel on site (87, 91, 100). E85 and other race fuels can be ordered.

This event will take place the weekend of December 6th and 7th, 2014. Being so early in the fall, and at Wilcox’s altitude, temps should be well below triple digits.

Short answer: Why not?
We are in the middle of the modern muscle car era. It’s a fairly common occurrence to see the average person piloting 700, 800, 1000hp automobiles. Vehicles achieving these horsepower figures 20yrs ago would have required a full race team. The problem with having a car that powerful is that there is simply nowhere to legally or safely put those ponies to good use. ‘Showdown on the Strip’ was created to give drivers the opportunity to test the limits of their car in a controlled environment, and have fun among their peers.

Competitor registration is $225 for one day, or $400 for the weekend.
