Thanks! The machined finish and clear coat seems to go well enough with the satin chrome window trim that I'm really reconsidering my plan of doing the window trim in gloss black.

As for the brake calipers, those were a very easy DIY job using brush on paint. I was just looking to cover up the awful rust that was on there, but the end result in black and with the BMW decals actually grew on me a lot. Fun and cheap afternoon project!

Hmmmm! I think I see black kidneys already though? I think it'll look good either way.

Not exactly the same, but I have a black sapphire car and have a set of 220's from the M3 that has the same finish (gunmetal interior with the machined/clear coat face). I already have shadowline trim but originally I was thinking the wheels would match the chrome kidneys. But.....I bought a set of the IS kidneys anyway and now I think the wheels will be the only contrast on the car now.

Need a garage or a driveway to be able to do that I'm already violating my apartment's garage rules by handwashing my car with ONR. The nearest power plug is about 150 feet away as well.

The kidneys are paint matched on the edges, but the interior slats are still chrome. Decided I'd go with something unique.

I'm in the same boat without a driveway - luckily my family lives near enough that I can drive to their house and use theirs when I need it. If you've got nearby friends or family, might be worth a shot to see if one of them will let you use their driveway in exchange for beer.

Good choice! You definitely have a secondary chrome/polished theme then.

Woot I just found this thread.

I'm local and have two e9Xs, one more special than the other.

If you guys do a meet I'll have to swing by. I want to check out some meth installs before I do mine and I would like to get some stuff coded.

edit: This is the one with the Bren tune. Ignore the mod list it's for a different car.

Thanks!

This thread is kind of quiet. Is everyone in hibernation or is it always like this?

Technically we both had angel eyes before we had BMWs:

Touche.

To liven this up, do any of you guys meet up in the area? I know there's a scheduled lunch in Burlington every so often, but that would be impossible for me to attend.

I don't think there's been a real meet-up for a couple years. There's Cars and Coffee and events every now and then where maybe three or four people from this forum will show up, but that's about it.

Unfortunately this thread is very quiet, as is this whole regional board. The majority of the users lost interest/are no longer active/bought F30s.
