VMR wheels on SE Michigan roads?

Looking for some input from anyone in southeast michigan with VMR wheels.

I like the look of the VRM710s, but I've seen a few people mention that they're not as strong as OEM wheels or some other brands. Do they stand a chance of holding up to these roads?

The potholes around here could probably dent just about any wheel, but it would be nice to hear from someone who has run VMRs for a while without any trouble.

If I decide to pull the trigger I'll get 18s.

I have 19" VMR v710s. Haven't done any damage to them and I've had them for 2 years.

I have been running 19 inch VMR V714s since 2008 all around Michigan, during the summers, with no damage what-so-ever. And I have hit a few things that amazed me when I found no damage and the wheel was still in the round, including a big chunk of concrete changing lanes on the highway under a bridge in Detroit, and a few pot holes that have tested the bump-stops rather well.

I had Avant Garde wheels and they sucks, VRM and other like that are piece of crap, they are hard to balance, cheap finish and hard to clean. Better buy used oem than new shitty replica

I haven't had any issues with shops not being able to balance my VMRs. They are not hard to clean, just normal mothers wheel cleaner, a power washer, and a little time and elbow grease. The finish has held up to several summers and is still good as new but I did have my lips painted TiAg.

I just sold my set of VMR V710s to a guy who picked them up from Grand Rapids. Nobody locally from Metro SE Mi Area actually pm'd me or gave me a reasonable offer.

They were good wheels - I bent one catching a nasty pothole on the way to Chicago and picked up a replacement. I never had issues with shaking, bending, but the finish was hit or miss (3 were perfect, 1 was starting to show some wear). Kind of heavy though which was not great for performance.

Yes, they are on the heavy side, but its slightly more about the show than the go for me; or I would have upgraded to a 335 or an M3 by now. I still get decent MPGs, a somewhat sporty drive and a car that looks great, which checks all of my daily driver boxes.
