A few differences in 335i and 335xi
I found a few things on my mil website about the 335xi.
Drag coefficient 335i .30 335xi .32 Top speed 335i 130 / 150 (with zsp) 335xi 130 / TBD Final drive ratio 335i 3.08 335xi 3.46 Active steering will not be available on the 335xi suspension 335i forged lower aluminum arms and aluminum subframe 335xi steel lower arms and steel subframe SPORT PACKAGE/SPORT SUSPENSION will not be available on the 335xi. Paddle shifters will not be available on the 335xi AWD and a higher final drive this will be a rocket in the 1/4, but i prefer the highways. So, I know atleast im getting the 335i now and I can quit waiting. |

I think he means that the sports suspension from the sports package won't be available as in the '06 cars with ZSP.

What I am saying is the sport suspension, and raised top speed limiter will NOT be availabe on the 07 335xi. The seats will be available, along with the wheels. It will have the same suspension as a stock 328 without sport suspension. It doesnt appear that they will call it ZSP, but if they do, suspension will not be included.

xi usually has its own level of suspension tuning, not identical to either the standard or sport settings on rwd versions.

... none if this is new. the 330xi and 325xi did not offer lowered sport suspension. the sports package for the XI model includes everything but the lowered suspension. Other than that..who cares about active steering

+1 I've got the same quesion. I've asked a couple times before and getting back conflicting info ... seems like BMW is running low on supply and might not be offering paddle shifters on 335Xi until supply problem is fixed.

Fairly common knowledge info. You can find all of that in the 2007 Sedan brochure.

Wait... but what about the 335xi coupe? the coupe has standard sport suspension.
ZSP or no ZSP, the coupe has the same suspension. Is this the case with the XI coupe? you cannot compare to past XI models, because '07 is the first year for XI in a coupe. |

Thanks adriver, I was wondering what the downside would be; not really feeling the lack of ZSP and paddles. Very helpful...thank you!

Note that the 328xi coupe has the same non-sport suspension as the 328xi sedan. BMW simply doesn't build a performance-focused AWD car. The AWD is there for safety. Contrast that with Aud and Porsche who put the AWD there with - at least in part - the intention of getting better performance. Disclaimer: I am not saying AWD BMWs suck. |

Someone probably has a better answer, but it is basically lower, firmer springs, bigger stabilizer bar(s) and probably less forgiving shock absorbers. Bushings might be different too - not sure.
Note, however, that in addition to the lack of the above, the XDrive BMWs also use steel suspension components instead of aluminum. So even if you go to an aftermarket setup you retain the weight penalty, including more unsprung mass. |

NO Difference. Coupe already comes with the sport suspension. everything else like steering wheel, seats, and speed limiter is changed. Non-zsp coupe already have the suspension!
