Just out of curiosity, what are you planning on mixing to get min. 93 octane for the aggressive maps? Ca 91 is horrible stuff, and I was getting timing corrections just in Sport Mode. I mix 20% E85 and now my timing is sweet. Haven't gone to aggressive because I am waiting for my IC, my IAT are still high, especially since its been in the 98 deg.+ range lately.

that's my thought process anyway before I get DP's. S1+ is still pretty impressive. Plus don't want to pay to play with DP's, My SA said that's one thing they look for during servicing. Sorry I don't have direct numbers for you, but just wanted to share the route I am taking.

this is for I8A0S, not sure what your ECU ID is, but i believe they are the same when it comes to what stage you get.

essentially, suggested upgraded intake, drop in or DCI, Required Down Pipes, suggested Cat Back Exhaust system, Stock FMIC ok.

when you go to S2+ is above plus Upgraded IC.

You're probably going to see a ~20hp bump assuming the car likes aggressive maps.

With adding full exhaust and going from Stage 1 aggressive to Stage 2 aggressive you looking at about 10HP peak but starting to flatten out the torque some.

Thanks for the reply, Since stage 2 requires all those upgrades I will stick with Stage 1 for a while. Correct me if I am wrong, but it appears that stage 2 agressive mode adds about another 50hp over stage 1.

Also, is there any danger on running agressive mode for extended periods of time? I just loaded stage 1 sport stock throttle to see how it goes.

If you have a stock car you'll want to stick to the stage 1 maps. Your octane determines whether you should run drive(91 ACN), sport(91) or Aggressive(93)

If you want to run the aggressive maps i highly suggest datalogging to see how your car likes it.

93 is avail here in TX and that is what I put in every tank since day 1. How long should I data log in agressive mode? Will that tell me if the car is going to blow up or something?

I assume running 93 in sport mode is ok?

yes, stick to S1 Sport. i would post some data logs, 3rd Gear Pulls to see how your car reacts to Ca. 91 with S1 Sport. As i said, i had to add in 20% E85 to fix timing corrects, partly due to high IAT, (Charged air temps/Intercooler Air Temp)

i would not suggest running Stage 2 with stock car. you'll be happy with S1 Sport ST. I am not sure on the delta whp between S1 - S2

read this thread on how to Data Log

Do you still recommend a data log if I have TX 93 octaine available?

There is a DIY on datalogging with Cobb, if you search for it you should find it easily. Apparantly the guy that wrote it is banned, but if you need any help with logging or reading a log i'll be glad to help.

The car isn't going to blow up if it doesn't like the map, it just wont run as well as it could. Timing corrections are the normal result of an over aggressive but the occassional correction isn't a big deal or something to worry about.

Running a sport map on 93 octane is normally a good way to ensure the car is running well, but not a guarantee. That's where logging comes in.

EDIT: VNeBLOB beat me to it

Ok thanks, I will probably get a data log over the next few days or so and try to figure out what is going on. Hopefully everything checks out.

Also the HP difference between sport and agressive is only minimal correct?

i screwed up and was thinking you were in Ca. i am still a n00b i guess.

that was the other guy.

its always good to do a log, just to see how your car is performing. So yes, it can't hurt. be sure to have a flat safe road. preferably early morning, where there is less traffic and the air is cooler. But yes 93 Octane is good.

Agreed completely, CALI 91 is absolutely terrible, but I've always filled up with only Chevron or Shell. I have been running the Cobb v301/v401 Stage 1 Sport maps with ACN91 for at least 5 months now with no problems. Although, I have never data logged to see if its been cutting back on timing.

I think I will once I remap back to Sport after the tank runs dry of the E85 mix.

At the moment, I've been filling up 3/4th tank of 91 & 1/4th tank of E85. With a 14 gallon tank, I get a 96 oct mix, and have posted the data logs in this very thread and I've gotten a green light. Car seems to be running great on the mix with aggressive.

My IAT's are also pretty high, I've been getting 115 or so on warm 90 Degree days. Having BMS DCI (hot air intakes) doesn't help much either. I really want a larger intercooler!

No worries, I appreciate the comments. I will try to get a log this week, just need to find a stretch or road that is safe and with no patrol cars

Do you guys think it is safe to assume a stock car running Stg 1 Aggressive (93 oct) is producing 390hp and 414tq at the crank? I'm getting these numbers from the Cobb website indicating a 30% hp and 38% tq increase. The reason I ask is that I'm not a heavy tuner and I have no plans on ever taking my car to the dyno. Thanks in advance.

If so, you can just use sport map which is more conservative so you can feel safe!!!!!!

Accounting for 15% loss about 380-385 and keep the 300 was underrated it was more like 310-315 stock.

You're prob making mid-300 CRANK HP on the Stage 1 Aggressive Map (375 at best). Stage 2+FMIC people are seeing ~380 HP (OTS Maps), which equates to ~440 at the crank

I just loaded the agressive map with linear throttle for the first time this evening. I could not wipe the smile off my face during my first run, the car pulls and pulls and just keeps going with power. I had the sport map with stock trottle loaded this afternoon, and sport linear throttle yesterday.

So far I like linear the best. I am going to leave it in agressive mode during for tomorrows commute but switch it back to sport until I can data log in agressive mode.

So far so good

I've seen stock cars dyno at 330whp/370wtq with the Stg 1 aggressive. So I don't see how the crank can only be mid 300s...
