Double din navigation fitment issues?

Just curious if I should be worried about an in-dash nav fitting properly. I'm referring to the depth. I want to purchase the unit online for better pricing, but I emailed a local installer and he suggested first bringing my car in to check how much room there is.

I'd rather the $45 go towards the actual install.

There are other problems other than fitment

There aren't that many shops that are good with e90's either becareful

Thanks for the input. I may just get the TomTom kit for the iPhone and use that as a GPS. What really sucks is it takes up the dock port, but provides an aux out - which is fine because I could tap into the aux in, but I wouldn't be able to control the music from the radio/steering wheel.

My other option is to just get an iPod and keep it in the center console at all times.

At this point, I think I'm going to cross in-dash off my list.
