VK Motorwerks Oil Cooler Replacement Parts
I just dropped my car off at the body shop yesterday and it looks like my OC got dinged up during the fender bender.
I went to the web site of VK Motorwerks and contacted them. The email was sent back to me and also the phone number goes to some Doctor's voice mail. The weird thing though is that it looks like they are still selling products on the web page. Hopefully someone doesn't pay for anything because I don't think they will get it. http://www.vkmotorwerks.com/Products.html Does anyone know what happened? I need a new core or something to replace it so if anyone knows anything about this then I would appreciate it if you can post here just in case someone else goes through the same issue as me. Thanks guys!

I might just order the STETT cooler since it looks like I can use some of the same parts.

Why not just get a similar sized setrab core and you're done? Assuming same sized AN fittings, that is?

I wouldn't go with VK OC if I had to choose again.

Mr 5 Just on a side note I injoyed Fb Diy on the Stett Oc and its an impressive pice of kit
The only thing I don´t like about the kit is that they are removing the cooling duct for the bracke on the Oc side could be a problem since you are tracking your car on other tracks than the 1/4 mile, I remember the local shop here had some M5 bumpers for the e60 without the brake cooling ducts and they had to recall them because of high speed brakeing problems on the German autobahn. On the other hand what I´ve seen from you so far it should be an easy fix to ad some new ducts for bakecooling. |

I tried contacting him a while back. Ended up getting in touch with him with the email that's connected to the paypal when you try to buy something on the site. Hope that helps

That's what Tony (E92Fan) over in the UK section did a while ago after his core split for the second time on the 'Ring. I'm sure he can tell you exactly which core you can use. Should be much easier and less expensive than ordering a complete new OC from STETT (although theirs a great product). Alpina_B3_Lux

I ordered the Setrab unit 50-625-7612. I asked the guy at the body shop to measure the VK OC and he said that it was 7.5 by 11.5. The Setrab unit that I got is 7.6 by 11.14. I'm thinking that the guy at the body shop just did a rough estimate and all I think I need to do is trim up the mounting fins to fit in the same location. It should work just fine.

Does anyone know about the fittings that come with the VK kit?
It looks like I'm going to have to change the fittings and I don't know what kind of fitting will fit the oil lines.

It looks like the Setrab unit takes an M22 fitting where as the VK unit takes something different. The only thing I need to figure out is what AN size are the VK lines so I can match them up.

OK, guys.
I found some information. The fittings are AN8. The exact oil cooler used in the original VK kit is a Derale #52508. The 52508 comes with the AN8 fittings. So, since I am using the Setrab unit, I just need to get the M22 AN8 fittings so I can transfer everything over.
