Well, the website still isn't reflecting the wheel options with M sport nor the BMW apps...at least not for the 328xi...I haven't checked all the others.

It really would be nice to be able to price out my car and see the msrp on the site. My car has already been built and is at the port in Germany so I guess I'll see it when it gets here.

Holy hell - I agree.

Those wheels are absolutely hideous.

What on earth were the designers thinking!!

I was using my work browsers which is ancient. It's showing the BMW apps here at home but the wheel options still aren't there.

E92 Coupe: End production in August?

Folks,
Iím planning to do an ED for a E92 (328ix, Msport, loaded etc) this summer. Iíve been watching this thread and trying to interpret these March changes for my order (which will be placed in May; Welt pickup in August). Yeah, Iím bummed that the 193s are dropped from the 328 Msport package. Side note: anyone interested in buying some 152s? To be listed for sale in November. ☺

Anyway, I wanted to share some info that I received from my [Boston area] CA. BMW has a history of extending the coupe model one year after the sedan ends production. But, it seems that BMW is putting a new twist on this for the E9x to F3x transition. I was told that the E92 (coupe) will end production in August and the E90 (sedan) will be October. I was shocked to get this note from my CA and had to call him to confirm. Thatís likely why this March production change was put into affect.

Also, it sounds like the F30 might be seen at US dealers in the December/January timeframe. At least that was what my CA told me.

Has anyone heard anything similar or different?

e92 ending production in August sounds about right from all the rumors that I've seen. That date hasn't really wavered at all. I would be surprised for them to introduce F32 though so early. My guess is the 2011 production for e92 is ending in August, and soon after they'll start 2012 production for e92 (and e93).

I have heard October as a rumored date for e90 though that date has been wavering a bit, but it does coincide with being shortly after Frankfurt Auto Show in September, so that would provide them time to introduce and then soon after begin production for F30 in November.

The factories traditionally go on hiatus in Aug which also marks the end of the model year. When production starts up again it's usually as the next model year. There are exceptions, of course, usually for all new models or LCI updates.

The 2011 e92/3 is long in the tooth being released in Spring '10 (I say this even as I will be picking mine up end of May and probably won't see it again until mid July). That is why the March changes occurred when they did. They needed something to keep potential buyers from just waiting to see what newness the '12s bring (which is probably nothing being it's probably the last e92/3 production year). Of course the March updates did more to upset people than make them rejoice so not sure the strategy was well executed.

Folks,
FYI - the March changes mention rim style 340 for the 328ix coupe with M sport. I couldn't find any pictures online, but was able to find one in my E92 brochure (pix taken with iPhone).

The rim looks a little better than the 152, but the 340 is listed as a 17x8 with all-season RFTs. That doesn't sound right. That "BMW-Treff" rim spec website lists the 340 as staggered (17x8/8.5) -- which sounds reassuring. But still, this is a 17" rim when the 152 is listed as a 18".

Has anyone heard any conflicting information from your CA? Thanks!

Real pics of 152's on car

I ordered my car in mid/late February with the M-Sport Package and didn't know until later that I was getting the 152's. They don't look bad in person. I plan on getting new ones for the summer and use these as my winter wheels. See my album for pics.

Aren't the convertible's held over for a year longer when production switches to a new model?
